Position Summary: DLS is looking for a talented and passionate Senior Scientific Project Manager to join our dynamic Genomics team. As a Senior Scientific Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role delivering order fulfillment processes and ensuring the satisfaction of our customers. A Day in the Life of an Senior Scientific Project Manager at Discovery Life Sciences:

  • Interacting with external customers (phone conversations, email, or presentations)
  • Develop SOPs and training materials
  • Contribute to milestone achievements in genomic medicine
  • Work with data management to effectively transfer biomarker data to clinical biorepository
  • Generate reports for inventory, shipping and order statuses

Position Qualifications (Education, Skills, Experience):

  • PHD preferred in genetics, biochemistry, molecular biology, or similar life sciences field. 1-2 relevant experience
  • MS acceptable (in fields above) and 5 years of relevant experience
  • BS degree (in fields above) and 7 years of relevant experience
  • PMP Certification preferred
  • Expertise in molecular biotechnology and high-throughput experimentation, with demonstrated track record of success.
  • 3+ years of experience with the project management in clinical trials and 7+ years of Project Management experience
  • Master's or higher degree in Biological Sciences.
  • High scientific standards and organization are critical
  • Experience managing budgets
  • Excellent computer skills include Microsoft Excel, Word, and Powerpoint. SalesForce.com experience is desirable but not required. Project Management software experience desirable

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to project management focused on achieving milestones in genomic medicine
  • Work on a team-based project at the interface of high-throughput single-molecule genome sequencing, genome editing, and computational analysis
  • Proactively identify and resolve and/or escalate study-related issues
  • Work with data management to effectively transfer biomarker data to clinical data repository
  • Define Project Scope and Objectives - Establish clear objectives, deliverables, and timelines, adhering to RUO/GCLP and CLIA/LDT regulations as applicable.
  • Resource Allocation - Determine the project's resource requirements, including personnel, equipment, and budget
  • Regulatory Compliance - Ensure all project activities comply with relevant RUO/cGLP and/or CLIA/LDT regulatory standards defined by the project sponsor and laid out in the project SOW
  • Project Execution and Management- Oversee the day-to-day operations and ensure project milestones are met according to the project plan and regulatory standards.
  • Quality Assurance - Monitor the consistency of project execution with established SOPs and regulatory requirements.
  • Stakeholder Communication- Provide regular project updates to external stakeholders, including progress reports, milestone achievements, and any challenges encountered. Facilitate transparent and effective communication between stakeholders and project teams
  • Data Analysis Coordination- Coordinate with bioinformatics teams or data analysts for the processing and interpretation and ensure data analysis meets project objectives and is delivered within agreed timelines.
  • Risk Management- Identify potential risks to project timelines, quality, and compliance. Develop and implement strategies to mitigate identified risks.
  • Documentation and Reporting - Maintain comprehensive documentation of all project activities, decisions, and communications.
  • Project Evaluation and Closure- Ensure all project documentation is finalized and archived according to regulatory and organizational requirements. Gather feedback from the client to improve future project management processes and client satisfaction.

Compensation and Benefits:

The exact base pay offered for this role will depend on various factors, including but not limited to the candidate's qualifications, skills, and experience. The total compensation range is $126,500.
