Summary

Elephas, a Madison, WI-based biotechnology start-up company, is seeking a highly motivated Field Service Engineer to join our team. Applicants should be comfortable in a fast-paced and highly collaborative environment. A successful candidate will be eager to learn and flexible with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Travel up to 25% is expected for this position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support, maintain, and run automation hardware for biological applications
  • Provide support for developed automation to external customers
  • Perform tests and analysis to support development of new applications
  • Create and maintain internal documentation and repositories
  • Identify avenues of improvement and engineering intervention for biological workflow
  • Travel to customer sites up to 25%

Education/Experience/Skills

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering or related sciences
  • Self-starter, able to work independently and take initiative
  • Strong analytical, critical-thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Great time management and ability to handle multiple initiatives and changing priorities

Nice to have

  • 2-5 years of industry experience
  • Experience coding mechanical systems in languages such as Python, Labview, MATLAB, C++/C#
  • Experience and comfort with experimental method and good research practices
