Job Description

Sr. Project Engineer Responsibilities & Duties Include but are not Limited to the Following:

  • Help the ALI Program clients demand to navigate the complex process of complying with the applicable performance testing requirements and ensuring that products are compliant to the ALI and Safety Standard.
  • Primary responsibilities will include working with a technical team to physically setup, test, and disassemble EUT being evaluated by ALI and the organization’s partner testing laboratories.
  • Responsible for setting up and executing tests, documenting results, and preparing reports. In doing so, applying custom testing solutions that utilize the latest technology.
  • Operate testing equipment and reading schematics, troubleshooting, and interacting with technical support staff to resolve problems.
  • Testing solutions included to standards: UL 201, CSA C22.2 68, ALCTV:2017, and NFPA 70.
  • Interpret standards and apply the requirements to products under investigation.
  • Create and implement test procedures.
  • Conduct tests in accordance with standards and procedures, record results.
  • Ensure that test equipment is calibrated or tested and operates properly.
  • Support sales team to provide them with quotes.
  • Interface with and update the Manager(s), and Project Coordinator(s).

Qualifications

Basic Minimum Qualifications:

  • This position requires a Bachelor of Science in (Mechanical or Electrical) Engineering or (Mechanical or Electrical) Engineering Technology from an ABET accredited program. An E.E. or an E.E.T. will be considered when coupled with 5 years of experience where mechanical and electrical disciplines have been intermixed in support of a product certification role.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a product certification engineer and must be willing to both perform both traditional engineering report writing and customer interface activities as well as work with other engineers in a Mechanical and Electrical testing laboratory environment involving setup, operation, and disassembly and repackaging of automotive lift products.
  • Experience with regulatory test requirements including measurements of the applicable Standards.
  • Open to 50% - 70% travel

Additional Information

Position is full-time working 1st shift, Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm, with overtime as needed. Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Cortland, NY are encouraged to apply.
