Job Description

As a laboratory for efficient diagnostics, Eurofins Laborbetriebsgesellschaft Gelsenkirchen GmbH offers its consignees a competent, friendly, and comprehensive service in all areas of laboratory medicine, microbiology and hospital hygiene at four locations. All laboratory areas are accredited according to DIN EN ISO 15189. The Head of Sales is responsible for leading the sales strategy and tactics for the Eurofins Clinical Diagnostics business in Germany, managing the already existing sales team (8 people). Geographical location for the position would preferably be in the Gelsenkirchen region. The Head of Sales will report to the Managing Director of GeLaMed.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Developing the commercial strategy for the German market.
  • Formation and further development of the sales team based on the strengths and weaknesses of the existing team.
  • Assisting and coaching Sales Managers to develop and implement account specific or business line specific action plans.
  • Defining and implementing the regional marketing strategy and tactics to develop the awareness and demand pipeline for German market, working with the business line leaders.
  • Developing the budget for sales targets in Germany aligned with the goals and budget of Eurofins Clinical Diagnostics.
  • Developing and maintaining the sales forecast.
  • Evaluating and reporting on market related trends to provide feedback to senior management.
  • Managing key high value customers to ensure customer satisfaction and growth of the account.
  • Developing sales, generating new leads to expand the customer portfolio - bringing new business effectively to the Eurofins Group.
  • Monitoring competitive activities in current and targeted markets.
  • Focusing overall direction of selling/training initiatives towards strategic selling.
  • Developing commission plans and an incentive-based compensations structure within the Eurofins guidelines.
  • Supporting Sales Managers on compensation, forecasts, and expense reports.
  • Providing continuous performance related feedback to the Sales Managers.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate would possess:

  • Completed business or technical (engineering) studies with Bachelor or Master from a reputable institution.
  • At least 3 years managing a sales and commercial team.
  • Ability to leverage existing professional network in the Clinical Diagnostics field would be a huge plus.
  • Self-starter who is a result and success-oriented individual with the proven ability to develop and follow through on sales tasks and plans.
  • Highly self-motivated, friendly, and able to specify solutions independently and as part of a team.
  • Willing to travel approximately 50% of working time.
  • Excellent written & spoken language skills in German and English.
