Job Description
The Certification Scientist Intern provides administrative support for the routine execution of product review and data management initiatives. They monitor email inboxes, save documents and communications as per SOPs and update database software systems with high accuracy. They have an eye for detail, maintain data quality, and execute verification initiatives according to specific business rules and client needs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Demonstrates and promotes the company vision.
- Under direction, supports program administration and database maintenance per SOPs such as, but not limited to:
- Identifies and executes tasks and next steps defined by established processes.
- Completes and submits work for review to meet deadlines.
- Monitors group email inboxes for work requests and saves documents per work instructions.
- Reviews documentation for accuracy and compliance following established business rules.
- Engages with internal stakeholders following business rules and communicates information requests in a very clear, timely, and succinct manner.
- Identifies gaps and/or missing information and communicates to appropriate contact.
- Maintains and updates documentation and database files as required.
- Works within specialized software systems
- Contributes to process improvement initiatives.
- Collaborates and communicates with leaders, colleagues, and subject matter experts within organization effectively.
- Collaborates with internal and external resources to find solutions.
- Raises issues promptly upon identification.
- Establishes and maintains professional rapport with colleagues.
- Follows SOPs and best practices under supervision.
- Participates in meetings and conference calls.
- Reads and responds to emails, phone calls in a timely manner.
- Maintains documentation, organizes computer and hard copy files for corporate records and sharing.
- Regular attendance and punctuality.
- Seeks out information/facilities to get the job completed.
- Conducts all activities in a safe and efficient manner.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education Minimum Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in food science/technology, life science, quality, regulatory affairs, data science, engineering, or related field.
- Additional work experience may be substituted for education.
Experience Minimum Required:
- Data management experience a plus
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) as well as database applications
- Ability to execute multiple assignments/ tasks
- Ability to build rapport with project stakeholders
- Ability to maintain a mindset focused on continuous improvement
- Knowledge of food and supplement regulations (FDA, CFR, Labeling, Nutrition) would be an asset
- Database experience a plus
- Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship
