Job Description
Candidate must be located within an hour of either Sidney or Dayton OH, with reliable transportation.
The Cluster Operations Manager receives sufficient authority from and is accountable to the Regional Manager or appointed designate for the successful completion of assigned duties and responsibilities. Ensure the Grain Inspection Laboratory operates efficiently, and client needs are met. Assign functions, and duties, and ensure all are performed in a timely, accurate and cost-effective manner, acts as a senior inspector, ensures proper flow of sample testing through the facility, perform test analysis, and may assign test samples to others, all tests are to be performed by accepted industry practices, responsible for accuracy in reporting results, and information to Client and Eurofins Division office.
A full understanding of inspecting grain. Managing a location is understanding the why (reason, purpose, or cause) and why not. This position dictates an understanding of client’s needs and the ability to act to satisfy their needs.
This position is the manager and person responsible for the respective sites. The Cluster Operations Managers are expected to conduct themselves professionally on and off the job.
- Overall Objectives and Responsibilities
- Oversee operations of 3-5 assigned locations and team members.
- Act as primary liaison between Eurofins and Client. Provide daily operational updates to the grain leadership team.
- Train and supervise grain inspectors and site leaders in all aspects of grain grading according to Eurofins Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), including sampling and all factors determining a grade.
- Responsible for accuracy in reporting results; record test results and provide information to the client of grain truck driver.
- Represent Eurofins Grain Inspection to the client company by acting as a liaison between the facility and the client grain company merchandisers.
- Demonstrate ability to operate all required basic lab equipment per USDA grain standards.
- Maintain a perpetual state of readiness and willingness to respond to the queries and needs of clients, staff, and co-workers.
- Remain current on technical, industry, and business advancements and trends as the regional or divisional leaders suggest.
- Attend local industry training, events, and tradeshows when necessary.
- Recommend and implement laboratory process improvements.
- Provide input and contribute to business strategic objectives.
- Communicate orally and in writing to co-workers and clients in proper business communication format.
- Promote the company image by exercising sound and ethical business practices for the public and our customers.
- Be able to serve as subject matter expert for grading at least two commodity types, including corn and soybeans, by accepted industry practice using visual procedure and computerized equipment, test samples for weight, moisture, foreign material, and damage, including potential mycotoxin and non-GMO testing.
- Adhere to and ensure that staff adheres to pertinent health, safety, and environmental regulations relative to the department; maintain and assist others in maintaining a clean, safe work environment. Conduct and lead safety investigations when necessary.
- Supervise general site operations, interface with site leads, guide procedures and/or troubleshooting, analysis methods, techniques, equipment, and schedules.
- Perform the functions of hiring, training, approving timecards, promotions, and handling disciplinary issues for department personnel, as well as handle employee relation issues as per company guidelines and with the support of Human Resources.
- Manage and perform performance reviews for direct reporting personnel.
- Performs other duties, activities, and projects as the regional manager assigns.

- Initial Education Background
- High school diploma or GED, with 5-10 years’ experience

Schedule:
Position is Full-Time, Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m., with additional hours, as needed
