Position Overview
This Commercial Analytics Intern position will support the Precision Oncology sales and commercial analytics teams, focusing on field force effectiveness. The intern will analyze sales field performance, particularly related to adherence to call plans, measuring reach and frequency across potential HCP deciles, and evaluating the impact on territory and regional growth. In addition to the stated duties, this position will also assist in developing reports and Tableau dashboards to track sales force performance and progress toward goals.

Essential Duties
Include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Analyze sales call plan effectiveness by evaluating how the sales field adheres to their call plans and measuring reach and frequency across high-potential HCP deciles.
- Track performance to goal by analyzing territory and regional growth from an order volume perspective, including key metrics like orders per call and goal attainment.
- Query and analyze data to provide insights into sales force performance, preparing regular reports and presentations summarizing findings.
- Support the development and enhancement of Tableau dashboards for optimal user experience. Ensure sales teams can easily access and interpret performance metrics.
- Identify growth opportunities by assessing sales team performance against key benchmarks and recommending areas for improvement in order volume and market penetration.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, and commercial analytics, to provide actionable insights and recommendations.
- Apply strong analytical and problem-solving skills to interpret sales data and generate insights for improvement.
- Display effective communication skills to convey analysis results and recommendations to the sales and analytics teams.
- Display unwavering attention to detail to ensure accuracy in data analysis and reporting.
- Support the development of user guides and documentation for dashboards to assist in user inquiries and dashboard troubleshooting.

- Ability to work on a mobile device, tablet, or in front of a computer screen and/or perform typing for approximately 80% of a typical working day.
- Ability to work on a computer and phone simultaneously.
- Ability to use a telephone through a headset.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field such as Marketing, Data Science, Analytics, Business, or a related field.
- Currently enrolled in a Master’s Degree program, preferably in Analytics, Data Science, Business, or an MBA program with a focus on marketing or sales.
- Prior internship or project experience in sales analytics or data analysis is preferred but not required.
- Proficiency in SQL for querying and analyzing sales data.
- Experience with Python programming for data analysis and modeling.
- Familiarity with Tableau or other data visualization tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess sales force performance.
- Ability to work independently and in a team, with strong collaboration and communication skills.
- Knowledge of key sales metrics, such as reach, frequency, orders per call, and goal tracking
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, including Excel (for data analysis, pivot tables, and reporting), PowerPoint(for creating presentations), Word (for documentation), and Outlook (for communication and calendar management).
- Demonstrated ability to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.
- Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Tableau for visualizing sales performance data.
- Familiarity with sales force effectiveness metrics and KPIs.
- Previous internship or project experience in sales analytics, marketing, or commercial operations.
- Experience or coursework in predictive modeling or advanced analytics for sales data.
- Understanding of SQL and Python for data querying and analysis.
Salary Range:
$37,000.00 - $59,000.00The annual base salary shown is for this position located in US - CA - San Diego on a full-time basis.
