Job Description:
We are hiring a Sr. Market Research Manager. The primary function of the Sr. Market Research Manager is to conduct in-depth market analysis, assess industry trends, determine market size and potential growth opportunities, and gather competitive intelligence. The Senior Market Research Manager works closely with cross-functional teams to provide strategic insights that support business goals and decision-making. The Senior Market Research Manager also collaborates with the LSBD and external vendors for specialized research projects, interprets large datasets, and presents findings to stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with leadership, corporate planning, and FTYO to incorporate both quantitative and qualitative data into the mid-term plan, capturing the organization's strategy and business objectives effectively
- Assess market size, growth potential, and key factors influencing the industry: Determine market sizing (TAM, SAM, and SOM) to inform business strategy and ensure consistent utilization across LSBU functions and LSBD entities
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, marketing, business development, corporate planning and sales, to facilitate strategic discussions and gather input on key business questions, assumptions, and potential initiatives
- Provide actionable insights and recommendations that drive informed decision-making, strategic planning, and business growth initiatives across all functional areas within the organization
- Collaborate with external vendors and agencies for specialized research projects
- Maintain and update the molecule capture map to facilitate long-term forecasting, global strategic account share of wallet, market share, and market trend analysis
- Perform quantitative and qualitative research into customer and the marketplace using online research and market reports and prepare comprehensive reports summarizing potential opportunities and threats to the business
- Review and interpret large data sets and organize them into spreadsheets, charts, and graphs
- Interpret data to draw meaningful conclusions and analyze market trends. Present findings to stakeholders using visual aids and engaging narratives.
- Make data-driven recommendations to drive strategic decision-making in areas such as budgeting, new product introduction, sales deployment and business planning
- Assist in the development and refinement of products or services based on market needs. Provide input on product features, pricing, and positioning.
- Segment target markets based on demographics, product line, customer profile and other relevant factors
- Conduct financial analysis of competitors' quarterly and annual reports to identify trends, strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities in the market landscape
- Create business cases for capex investments and business development projects
- Participate in industry events, conferences, or networking opportunities to stay connected with key stakeholders and industry trends
- Monitor the implementation and execution of recommendations derived from research findings to assess their impact on strategic goals and overall business performance
- Support MBRs, QBRs, and strategic and/or priority initiatives by providing analysis of metrics, KPIs, and dashboards
Required Skills/Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business Administration, Market Research, or a related field. A master’s degree may be preferred.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in market research, competitive intelligence, or strategic analysis in biotechnology or life science
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and analyze large datasets, market trends, and competitive landscape effectively
- Proficiency in market research tools, data analysis software, and presentation tools
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present findings and insights to stakeholders in a clear and engaging manner
- Understanding data analysis tools and software to interpret and analyze market data effectively
- In-depth knowledge of market research methodologies, techniques, and best practices
- Familiarity with industry trends, market dynamics, and competitive landscape within the relevant sector
- Ability to speak, read, and write English
Salary and Benefits:
- For California, the base salary range for this position is $88,065 - $124,630. Compensation for the successful candidate will depend on various factors (e.g., qualifications, education, prior experience, location, etc.).
