The Medical Director Neisseria Vaccines is the US Medical Affairs team member accountable for contributing to the medical strategy of key assets and achievement of the medical objectives. This role contributes to the overall success of the Neisseria portfolio and ensuring patients benefit from our scientific advancements.

This role contributes to ensuring alignment with US Commercial, Vaccines Global Medical, and the overall US Medical matrix. The role will contribute, directly and indirectly, in a Medical Matrix Team (MMT) responsible for executing multiple US Medical Affairs Strategic and tactical plans.

Key Responsibilities:

This role will provide YOU the opportunity to contribute in key activities to progress YOUR career, these responsibilities include some of the following:

  • Execute the Medical Operational Plans

  • Design training and program content that educates and shapes awareness of our vaccines.

  • Lead appropriate medical engagement between GSK and external stakeholders to advance scientific and medical understanding including the appropriate development and use of our vaccines, the management of disease, and patient care.

  • Coordinate with the US MSL, Policy and Payor teams to ensure alignment and effective engagement with top US based EEs, Policy and Payer decision makers.

  • Work in conjunction with the US Health Outcomes team to contribute to the planning and generation of local evidence.

  • Responsible for ensuring that plans and activities are implemented in a manner that is compliant with scientific engagement principles, GSK’s Code of Practice, and GSK values.

  • Ensure that all communications are scientifically accurate, balanced, remain aligned with product strategy.

  • Continuously evaluate the vaccine readiness needs across USMA.

  • Participate in the design and execution of special transformative initiatives across USMA.

Why You?

Basic Qualifications:

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals

  • PhD, PharmD or Master’s Degree in science related field.

  • Experience in Infectious Diseases (pediatric/adolescent), or Public Health, or Immunology and/or Vaccinology.

  • 5 plus years Pharmaceutical Industry experience.

  • 3 plus years experience in Medical Affairs

Preferred Qualifications:

If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:

  • Prior experience of working in a matrix environment.

  • Medical Affairs with launch experience

  • Excellent strategic thinking and leadership skills.

  • Strong communication skills (oral and written), including the ability to identify and articulate the value of clinical and heath outcome data to internal stakeholders and external customers

  • Knowledge of the US healthcare environment including disease-specific research priorities, public health need, competitor landscape, clinical practice trends and guidelines evolution.

  • Excellent communications and leadership skills with a demonstrated ability in building collaborative relationships - ability to work effectively with others, delegate appropriately and foster a culture of collaboration.
