Manager, R&D Procurement – Functional Service Providers

In this role you will…

  • Manages one or two categories/commodities

  • Complex sourcing and category management role in GSK

  • Key role in strategy development

  • Develop strategy for the procurement of categories within the broader FSP group of categories, designed to ensure high quality of services and ensure GSK’s competitive position

  • Collaborate within team and key stakeholders to deploy strategies globally/regionally, facilitated by robust implementation and transition plans

  • Generate value in terms of quality, delivery, and cost; contribute significantly to organization’s goals and objectives

  • Contract planning, negotiation, execution, interpretation and maintenance; manages / monitors ongoing negotiations with 3rd parties

  • Champions the sourcing group management process and policies across functions and links these to GSK’s strategic direction

  • Knows and utilises business processes in all GSK supplier transactions, including all risk/ regulatory/ compliance requirements

  • Implements and supports procurement strategies to maximise supplier leverage

Qualifications & Skills:

  • University Degree in Procurement, Business, Finance, or Science

  • Relevant experience in procurement

  • Significant external supplier knowledge through previous experience or market research in-role

  • Proven negotiations and contract management skills

  • Leadership/communication skills

  • Market knowledge of supplier capabilities (current and future) is required to acquire and maintain competitive advantage

  • Contracting experience required, including a thorough understanding of contracting fundamentals and experience with contract planning, negotiation, execution, interpretation and maintenance

  • Experience delivering quality, compliant, timely, well-specified agreements to generate a clear return on investment for GSK

  • English proficiency (written and oral), other language will be a plus

  • May work across multiple countries requiring high cultural awareness
