Job Purpose and Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strong scientific support on health economic and Real-World Data research activities within China Medical and Development as well as activities related to the access of our new assets in China market.
    • Identify evidence gap and to develop evidence generation plan for our assets for early product planning, clinical development throughout to launch, market access, and post-marketing
  • Generate/co-generate timely and quality evidence through the development and implementation of high quality, scientifically robust health outcomes projects and activities

Accountability:

  • Collaborate and integrate expertise from Market Access, Clinical, Quantitative Sciences, Commercial, and Regional/Global Epidemiology and VEO partners to identify evidence gap and to develop evidence generation plan for our assets from early product planning, clinical development throughout to launch, market access, and post-marketing
  • Provide support in the development and implementation of high quality, scientifically robust health outcome projects and activities (e.g. health economic models, burden of illness, indirect treatment comparisons, observational research, PRO development/ measurements) which support development programs and submissions to secure access/reimbursement with external decision makers
  • Effectively and smoothly collaborate with internal partners and external commercial vendors during research design, conduct, and delivery
  • Manage multiple research projects, timelines, deliverables, and budget in alignment with corporate governance and policy.
  • Write and submit manuscripts to peer-reviewed scientific journals. Present research at scientific conferences
  • Support external scientific advice meetings to gather recommendations for scientifically robust health outcomes evidence
  • Explore external collaboration opportunities in utilizing real-world data sources, e.g. electronic medical records databases, biobank, etc.
  • Work with colleagues to implement the capability program for VEO team

Specialized Knowledge:

  • Expertise in epidemiology. Pharmacoepidemiology is a plus
  • Strong knowledge and experience in Real-World Data sources (e.g. claims data, EMR) in China

Basic Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in HEOR with 8 to 10 years relevant work experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to communicate effectively in both Chinese and English, oral and written
  • Demonstrated scientific problem-solving abilities
  • Good project management skills with ability to collaborate with internal/external stakeholders from multiple disciplines locally, regionally, and globally
  • Understanding healthcare system, market access and reimbursement in China
