Education required: Undergraduate studying a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college/university, preferably in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Chemistry or any other related Engineering or Science disciplines

Other requirements: Must be enrolled at a SG university for the duration of your internship and doing a credit-bearing internship

Language requirement: Written and spoken fluency in English

Internship period: January to June 2025

What will you do?

  • To support new enhancements of Global Supply Chains Jurong and Quality Road

  • Ensuring Safety as Core Value with the roll out of Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) Programs in alignment with Singapore’s Total Workplace Safety and Health 2028 strategic pillars on "Strengthening Ownership", "Enhancing Workplace Health", and "Promoting Technology-Enabled WSH".

  • Make overall improvements to System, Culture and Health in Jurong and Quality Road. Management and enhancement of programs related to EHS Risk Management and Significant Incidents & Fatality (SIF) and potential SIF (pSIF) preventions

What will you learn?

Strengthening Ownership

  • Develop mass communication and data analysis strategies related to SIF/pSIF prevention, Process Safety Bowtie initiatives; as well as embeding Safety Leadership Experience in the day-to-day operations. This is to catalyse the strengthening of positive safety leadership from leaders to staff & to contractors: furthering our goals to foster everyone’s belief in EHS as a personal value, not just a site priority

  • Support continual drive for zero overdue EHS Risk Assessments (Ras) and Corrective Actions/Preventive Actions (CAPA) by instilling ownership through active engagement and RA/ CAPA management

Enhancing Occupational Health Programs

  • Support industrial hygiene projects in bettering ergonomics and/or exposure controls to protect the health of workers and enable even more sustainable operation

Promote Technology-Enabling WSH

  • Support the development of mass communication strategies that share good industrial practices, with the aim to spur contributions of Continuous Improvements (CIs) initiatives that leverage technology to make work easier and safer

  • Support implementation of Process Safety Bowtie improvement plans

  • Strong problem-solving skills driven by curiosity

  • Great project management skills and the ability to prioritise
