As Technical Project Manager you will initiate, develop, and manage the CMC product and process development project plan for prioritized GSK vaccines in development, and drive integration of technical and business goals to deliver development projects, from receipt of research targets through commercial validation, in line with financial, technical, quality and compliance targets.

Your responsibilities:

  • Create, monitor and update the integrated technical (CMC) project plans covering CMC activities and drivers to accurately forecast the schedule, key milestones, and resource demands.

  • Lead project operating budget development (manpower & external spend) and forecast-update processes in collaboration with the Technical R&D functions, Technical Development Lead (TDL), and other teams.

  • Act as a fully embedded and active member of the Technical Development Team (TDT), and influence direction of project development utilizing data, scenario planning and critical path analysis to aid decision making.

  • In partnership with the TDL and TDT, define, monitor, and mitigate project risks to ensure key project milestones are met.

  • Proactively identify issues (e.g., resource gaps) and opportunities in the plan.

  • `Work effectively with Vaccine Development Team (VDT) project manager and other teams to fully integrate CMC plans into the cross-functional VDT plans to provide alignment, coordinated execution and delivery of the overall project.

  • Define and implement a project communication plan to ensure timely and accurate flow of information within the team, to key stakeholders, including a proactive escalation process.

  • Lead timely and accurate reporting of project progress and risks in collaboration with the TDL and TDT. Ensure accurate plan data for management/progress reporting and KPI tracking. Monitor project data against governance escalation thresholds and ensure TDT acts on any breach.

  • Provide clear plan visuals (incl roadmaps, inflection points, resource forecasts) to support TDT decision making and governance.

  • Act as TDT representative for the purpose of capacity and prioritization governance.

  • Actively manage financial aspects of the project including provision of codes for Purchase orders, monthly accruals, invoice approvals, and cross charges. Provide relevant context to the financial partners for any key changes to the resource forecast.

  • Provide operational support (meeting management, action and decision logs) and ensure effective knowledge management in partnership with TDL.

  • Provide clear project management leadership, and drive accountability among project team members.

  • You collaborate with the Technical R&D continuous improvement and business operations leads to drive harmonization and operational excellence in project management across TRD, including implementation of project management tools.

Basic Qualifications:

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

  • Bachelor’s degree Life, or physical sciences, or engineering

  • 8+ years of experience in the field of project management in life science or related industry

  • Languages: English proficiency required (verbal and written)

Preferred qualifications:

If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:

  • PMP certification preferred, but not required if relevant project management experience can be demonstrated

  • Demonstrated successful project management skills

  • Learning agility, high level of autonomy and desire to learn new things outside of one's comfort zone

  • Critical mindset, pragmatic approach in problem solving

  • Able to evolve and in a changing and challenging environment

  • Positive team spirit and interpersonal skills

  • Strong communication, collaboration and influencing skills
