GSK’s Malaysia team is looking for a dynamic and result-driven Strategic Account Manager to join the team. The Strategic Account Manager will play a pivotal role in driving business growth by developing and nurturing strategic relationships with key clients and stakeholder within the pharmaceutical sector. Reporting to the Commercial Lead, you will have full ownership and accountability for managing the assigned strategic accounts.

As a member of the Strategic Account Management Team, your responsibilities include:

  • Accountability for delivering the business objectives for the specific accounts and specific portfolio (therapeutics or vaccines).

  • Be accountable to develop and execute personalized strategic account plans to drive value and deliver growth, including innovative marketing strategies.

  • Develop and execute robust channel business plan leveraging face-to-face as well as digital engagements to create a personalized omni-channel experience for customers.

  • Support the implementation of key marketing campaign and trade offers in assigned accounts to enhance GSK’s standing in the healthcare market.

  • Explore opportunities for customer/patient activation and navigate these with customers and internal stakeholders in preparation of the co-ownership for new launches.

  • Forecasts the assigned accounts sales.

  • Develops and execute solutions to address performance gaps for assigned accounts. Proposes activities to enhance performance and competitivity for GSK portfolio within assigned accounts.

  • Establish and cultivate effective commercial relationships for listing of GSK products, co-ownership of strategic plans.

  • Manage relationships with, decision makers, and other stakeholders for each strategic account to ensure optimal access for GSK brands.

  • Maintain high level of customer service by identifying and resolving customer queries and problems proactively.

  • Ensure key accounts and stakeholders are engaged, educated, and informed to drive growth.

  • Continuously identify customer insights to drive performance and business opportunities. Follow up on progress and outcome.

  • Collaborate cross functionally with GSK commercial, medical and sales teams to deliver objectives aligned with GSK strategic priorities.

Basic Qualifications:

We are looking for self-driven professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

  • Preferably with 4 years’ of proven track record of success in either or a combination of pharmaceutical sales, marketing, key account management or medical affairs

  • Demonstrated experience in developing and delivering account and channel marketing strategies

  • Clear and influential communication skills, negotiation skills, presentation skills, with the ability to build rapport and credibility with key stakeholders

  • Demonstrated planning ability and strong organizational and executional skills with a strong sense of ownership and accountability

  • Creative problem solving and analytical thinking

  • Strong customer orientation

  • Preferably a Bachelor’s Degree with relevant science or business background (MBA is a plus)

  • Ability to understand the business landscape and leverage on customer ecosystem

  • Accountability and ownership in creating innovative business plans and solutions

  • Orchestrate relationships and demonstrate omnichannel engagement mindset

  • Strong commercial acumen with demonstrated ability for negotiation and project management skills

  • Financial acumen and experience in budget management (must) and P&L management (advantageous)
