Job Purpose:

The EHS Manager handles the management and delivery of EHS services at the local Commercial site level and ensuring that these supports to facilitate all business operations. The Site Lead will serve as the primary liaison with the businesses at the site level or stakeholders and the position will ensure the effectiveness of local EHS governance.

  • Ensure that the highest standards of safety and health are in place to provide an environment conducive for the employees’ performance and development.

  • Establish and implement commercial EHS management system at the site location(s) to ensure compliance with local EHS legislation and GSK global EHS standards.

  • Take lead and facilitate regular Commercial EHS council meeting joint by all relevant functions to discuss EHS concerned areas, to prioritize actions; to ensure proper resources and plans are in place.

  • Initiate and implement Environmental, Health, and Safety management activities, including awareness campaigns within GSK.

  • Work closely with compliance officers to ensure Commercial EHS risk has been identified and mitigated properly.

Key Responsibilities:

1) EHS Manager:

  • Setting EHS objectives to align with regulatory GSK global EHS requirement and facilitate EHS council to accomplish commercial EHS objectives.

  • Leading EHS risk assessment and work with business partners to mitigation EHS risks. o Establishing, reviewing, updating commercial EHS policies and procedures at the site(s)

  • Establishing employee health programs to promote healthy work environment and mental wellbeing.

  • Facilitating key commercial EHS programs implementation, such as life safety, office safety, driver safety, health and wellbeing.

  • Developing EHS training programs for the Commercial business and deliver EHS induction training for new employees in induction programs. o Be responsible to coordinate regular EHS inspection and audit program within Commercial offices.

  • Facilitating EHS incidents investigation and responsible for EHS incident reporting to local authority and Global EHS One reporting system.

  • Liaison with GSK global and regional EHS network to learn and benchmark best EHS practice.

  • Working together with HR on motorbike working tool programs about entry document screening…etc...and support required document to auditor when requires.

2) Health and Wellbeing:

  • Health management required by the Occupational Safety and Health Act and Serious Disaster Punishment Act (Appointment of health officer is mandatory)

➢ Establishment and monitoring of health education (In case of recruitment/ Periodic education/ First aid, etc.)

➢ Management of general medical examination targets and examination rates, follow-up management for examination results, and health promotion activities, etc.

➢ Establishment a response plan for emergency situations for local offices and filed workers

➢ Record of health works, and report and management about industrial accidents.

➢ Health related works required by the Regulations on Occupational Safety and Health Standards.

➢ Understand about industrial safety and cooperation with safety manager to ensure employee’s safety

  • Health management required by Global GSK EHS and the regulations of Health & Wellbeing

➢ Application of health regulations to local organizations of Enterprise-wide EHS standards and Risk-based standards

➢ Establishment of operation plan and response for COVID-19 health and wellbeing

➢ LOC-related works such as Global health & wellbeing program introduction and operation

➢ Develop and implement a site and country health plan to address local employee health and wellbeing risks and needs and in line with the Global Employee Health and Wellbeing Strategy

➢ Develop and implement a Health and Wellbeing Communications Strategy to ensure Health and Wellbeing messaging is delivered to all employees.

➢ Lead and support health promotional activities at the workplace, such as promotion of Employee Assistance Programme, Partnership for Prevention and Global Health and Wellbeing programmes

➢ Support HR with periodic review of local employee medical benefits when necessary.

➢ Besides, Health related works related to Global EHS and health & wellbeing.

  • Support business with continual improvement of GSK Survey to embed Health and Wellbeing Culture across GSK.

  • Other business support tasks, etc

Key Requirements:

  • University degree, Medical and or pharmacist is preferred.

  • At least 5 years of experience in multinational companies in Occupational, Health and Safety, Administration and Warehouse management

  • Stakeholders' management (Internal and external): Strong leadership, mentoring and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with personal at all levels.

  • Strong organizational and project execution skills with ability to effectively manage multiple tasks, priorities, and deadline and a fast -paced environment.

  • Knowledge of Occupational health and safety is a must.

Essential skills and abilities:

  • Fluent oral and written communication skills

  • Ability to deliver clear communications and good working relationships with peers and management level.

  • Problem solving skill within a structured process

  • Good team player – works well in cross functional teams

  • Works with a spirit of continuous improvement, creatively open to new ideals and methods.

  • Good at general computer literacy with intermediate skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

  • Proficiency in MS office/knowledge in ERP/SAP…

  • Relationship building and networking capability.

  • Leadership ability

  • Effective communication and inter-personal skills. Ability to support and challenge at the same time senior leader.
