As such, a good understanding of the therapeutic areas and related products as necessary.
The role also acts as an Adviser/Consultant providing medical input and review to the various departments who support the products. The ability to assist with defining product strategy is required and the position is a core member of the Medical-Marketing Team. A pivotal aspect of the role is to facilitate the interaction/partnership between Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), Academia and GSK. The position is responsible for ensuring the Company’s adherence to appropriate governance in HCP/HCO/consumer interaction for their therapy areas and maintaining GSK/Industry/environment defined standards of conduct in this area.

1. Medical Marketing/Scientific Engagement
Supports medical team on all aspects of Medical Affairs, Medical Information and Product Training for LOC businesses.
Ensure compliance of medical marketing activities in line with the PhAMA code; the GSK Code of Practice for Promotion & Customer Interactions as well as the local law and regulations.
Ensures that procedures on the review and approval of promotional materials are in–line with GSK Code of Practice for Promotion & Customer Interactions, other relevant GSK policies and SOPs, and prevailing national and international standards and guidelines
Conduct internal and external scientific presentations related to GSK products and related science.
Collaborates with local country marketing and regulatory teams to support product registration and marketing
Support product launches and other lifecycle management marketing activities
Expand and cultivate external experts networks
Participates in country Advisory Board meetings
Support external experts and their presentations at conferences and GSK sponsored symposia
Assist with the development, organisation, preparation and implementation of therapy/product training for internal and external audiences
Collaborate with commercial and regulatory teams to provide essential scientific and medical marketing support to optimise business performance
Ensure continuous improvement, with regard to processes in medical affairs, marketing and promotional practices by country team
Ensure scientific and ethical conduct are maintained at high standards to protect brands and company’s reputation
Utilise medical knowledge and information in marketing, regulatory, corporate communication contexts to develop marketing and communication strategies
Translate regional medical marketing strategies to local country markets to support business and to ensure global alignment of medical marketing strategies
Provide advice and medical review of data on pipeline products
Manage and review safety cases
Support to Named Safety Contact & Person Responsible for Pharmacovigilance
Leading ‘Drug Safety’ projects, including post marketing surveillance and product recall/Dear HCP Letter related matters
2. Communications/PR
Assists with medical response to crisis management and other acute medical issues
Ensure high standards of medical and scientific accuracy in all external communications to medical audience and general public in keeping with GSK policy and relevant industry and regulatory codes
Conducts scientific presentations in support of GSK products in scientific meetings, congress, symposia, regulatory authorities, external visitors and others
3.Government and Regulatory Affairs
Assist country business Managers/Directors in the development of tender submissions and information packages intended for Regulatory bodies
Provide product and disease information to authorities to support policy and decision making
Develop and reinforce the external scientific image of the Company to Ministry of Health and other similar government agencies through representation and continuous educational efforts
4.Clinical Research/Key Evidence Generation
Play a proactive role in identifying and developing research strategies and opportunities
Assist with the choice of investigators for country sponsored/regional sponsored studies
Review the medial appropriateness and alignment with GSK objectives, of all research proposals; in particular Investigator Initiated Study Proposals and co-ordinate to optimize the outcome
Co-ordinate medical input on research proposals, as received from Regional/Central Teams
Assist the Clinical Research Group to develop appropriate protocols to support research proposals and monitor, if required
Review and provide medical approval of all research reports and publications, when required
Build on the development of Health economics/Outcomes Research
Provide advice and medical review of data for submission, as required
5. Others
Participate in Medical Department projects, meetings and workshops
Lead role/Champion for allocated projects - Oversight to key NPI pre-launch action plan and execution in coordinating with MSLs/Medical Advisor
Special projects as may be agreed from time to time
Why You?
Basic Qualifications:
Medical degree recognized in Malaysia
Specialization in Public Health or Relevant Area related to Vaccinology/Immunology is preferred
3-5 years clinical practice/pharmaceutical industry experience (Medical Affairs/Clinical Research)
Competencies Required:
Be an organizer/planner/analyzer/implementer/problem-solver with tact and diplomacy. Ability to gain and maintain the respect of, and interact harmoniously and efficiently with, physicians, regulatory personnel, both from internal or external collaborators
Good knowledge of the local healthcare landscape
Strong relevant medical affairs experience with stakeholder mapping and product launches
Ability to understand and assimilate scientific methods and information and to interpret scientific data; statistical literacy
Capacity to present scientific data in the highest medical and ethical standards
Effective communication skills essential, both written and oral
Strong interpersonal/influencing and presentation skills
Self motivated, proactive, innovative with insight, balanced scientific-business acumen and professionalism
