We’re looking for a committed worker to join the ARD Immuno & Cellular team in a challenging role for the analytical development of R&D vaccines.

The Associate Scientist is expected to support the development, qualification, and validation of immuno-based and cell-based analytical methods (e.g. IVRP, IVRE, MAT) and execution of testing for release and stability of clinical lots according to vaccine technical programs as they progress from early development into Phase I/II, Phase III. The role is expected to support method and process transfer to the final commercial site and may also be involved in Life Cycle activities for process improvements in the commercial vaccine portfolio.

In this role you will be expected to:

  • Participate in the development of analytical methods (immuno and cell-based), by using existing technologies like ELISA, Luminex, Octet, FACS and exploring new technologies to support process and product understanding with the focus on quality attributes in complex matrixes, both in DS and DP and process intermediates.

  • Work closely under the direction of scientific staff to, implement, and interpret the experimental.

  • Train and oversee platform staff on equipment operation, data analysis, and other project-related work.

  • Prepare and present scientific data in local and global meetings.

  • Participate in writing technical protocols and reports in support of various project development stages.

  • Follow the Quality by Design approach to process development, leading multidisciplinary Technical Risk Assessments and ensuring to meet all documentation deliverables required at each of the project stage gates.

  • Participate to method qualification, validation, and transfer.

  • Support process development.

Basic Qualifications:

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

  • Scientific degree (PhD is a plus) in biotechnology, bioengineering, biochemistry, chemistry or equivalent.

  • Strong experience in analytical development of immuno assay and cell- based assay as IVRE and Monocyte activation test for vaccines (proteins, polysaccharides and glyco-conjugates, mRNA based,

  • Experience gained with Luminex, Octet and Flow Cytometry technologies.

  • Sound scientific methodology, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

  • Proficiency in both Italian and English languages (written and spoken)

  • Strong organizational and communications skills
