Principle Architect, Cloud Network

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Cloud Network Architect to join our IT team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing cloud networking solutions that support GSK's digital transformation efforts. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including IT, security, and application development, to ensure the seamless integration of cloud network infrastructure with our existing systems.
Your responsibilities include…
- Design and implement scalable, secure, and highly available cloud network architectures.
- Develop and maintain network architecture blueprints and documentation
- Ensure cloud network solutions align with GSK’s business objectives and IT strategy
- Collaborate with application development, Connectivity Architects, Enterprise Architects, and security teams to integrate cloud network solutions with existing systems and applications.
- Act as a subject matter expert for cloud networking, providing guidance and support to internal teams and projects.
- Work with external partners and vendors to evaluate and implement new cloud networking technologies and services.
- Participate as SME in regular security assessments and audits of cloud network infrastructure.
- On occasion act as third level support in resolving network-related issues in a timely manner.
- Implement automation and orchestration tools to enhance network management and efficiency.
- Provide training and knowledge transfer to IT staff and other stakeholders.
- Assist Cloud Network Engineers in the development and maintenance of standard operating procedures (SOPs) for cloud network operations.
Your Key Stakeholders are…
- Director Cloud Connectivity: Act as the thought leader in initiation and consideration of cloud network technologies on behalf of Director
- Cloud Network Engineers: Daily interaction with upwards of 10 Engineers, ensuring that visions are communicated, and processes are optimized
- Peer Architects: Weekly interactions Enterprise, Zero Trust, and Access Network Architects as part of collaborative team driving cohesive strategies in Connectivity
- Business Units: Regular cadence meetings to ensure that solutions provided are fit for purpose in enabling GSK’s communications needs

Basic Qualifications:
We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:
- Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent technical qualification with relevant experience.
- 10+ years of experience in Tech/IT.
- 5+ years’ experience designing and implementation of cloud specific network architecture
- Proficient in modern software engineering practices and cloud-centric infrastructure.
- 5+ years of experience working with strategic suppliers providing 24x7 operational support and technology vendor support contracts
- 5+ years of experience managing enterprise-wide Cloud Network Deployments.
- Leadership skills with the ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with diverse audiences across various technical disciplines and job levels to achieve results.
- Management experience with suppliers and matrixed multi-functional teams located globally.
- Experienced in managing infrastructure in both private and public cloud environments.
- Track record in establishing SRE practices within the enterprise.
Preferred Qualifications:

- Five years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with a solid understanding of its technological trends.
- Self-starter with a sense of urgency and the ability to handle multiple high-priority work demands simultaneously in an outcome-driven organization.
- Passionate about enhancing the customer experience.
- Experienced in initiating and delivering large-scale operational programs.
- Skilled in operating systems and database administration.
- Proficient in agile delivery methodologies.
- Experienced in the DevOps operational model.
