As a Logistics Operation Manager, you will be responsible for the definition, deployment, and continuous improvement of customer services, logistics processes, warehouse operations, and sales and distribution data to support the strategic and commercial objectives for Zebulon supply:

  • To ensure the execution of the distribution and movement of medicines to and from the Zebulon Site is managed through maintaining S&D data and auditable documents.

  • To collaborate with all customers/markets to deliver and implement appropriate Supply Chain initiatives with key trading partners as required.

  • To maintain accountability for the warehouse team and budget, which is responsible for receipt and storage of materials from vendors, issues of materials to product streams, and dispatch of products to freight forwarders for distribution to customers.

  • To ensure the staff are given the right skills required for strategic alignment to support future state and change projects for Warehousing, Distribution and Supply Chain performance.

  • To act as Supply and Logistics lead working with other technical specialists and departments to deliver new products/processes to plan and coordination of ad-hoc supply requests, registration samples and other non-standard shipments including proforma invoice creations.

  • To support and act as Supply and Logistics lead for Supply Chain projects, market ERP cutovers, merger activities and significant Supply Chain process changes.

  • Develop and deliver the Warehouse Strategy aligned to the Zebulon site, including leading customer supply chain collaboration initiatives and KPI management.

  • Lead initiatives with the E2E LP organization (Logistics Service Providers/Distributors through the Supplier Relationship Model Process to ensure Customer Service levels are met within the market.

  • Develop, implement, and maintain compliant supply chain policies and processes and local risk management processes through ensuring the integrity of the material master / customer master data is maintained within appropriate systems, enforcing GSK global quality, EHS and ABAC standards within the customer service and logistics activities. Develop business continuity plans and crisis management procedures & processes to mitigate risks within the supply chain; and Ensuring Logistics Control Center and customers/market compliance is aligned.

  • Manage Zebulon warehouse operations (MAIN and MDPI) according to service agreement/contract.

  • Owning data management of the following: Customer Material Information Records (CM/R), Material Listings (ML) and Batch Search Strategy (BSS) data set up; trade route creations via submission of SID (site item data form). Maintain customer address details via MERP EDM Tool. Data sourcing and provision for all above tasks; site contact for Sanctions & Export screening requests

  • Manage dispatch load building, including weekly Shipment Plan meetings with warehouse dispatch team to approve the plan and agree order alignment in line with available transport and warehouse capacities.

  • Communicate with customer to gain approval to ship any batches with short shelf life remaining at dock date in market and for order changes to customers that exceed one agreed time limits or impact SOLS.

  • Responsible for resolving and updating site invoice documentation via MERP, Update mode of transport on documents for logistics partners.

  • Investigates discrepancies at the request of the Principal Trading company (PTC). Manage market exceptions as specified and agreed with PTC to ensure correct invoicing takes place.

  • Responsible for license applications and updating of sales orders to lift embargos for all orders supplied to Sanction markets.

Basic Qualifications:

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

  • Bachelor’s degree in applicable field such as Supply Chain Management, Business Management or Logistics

  • 5+ years of experience in transportation management, supply chain management, and 3PL transportation

  • Experience managing transportation modes - small parcel, palletized air, Full/Less Than Truck Load

  • Experience managing transportation budgets and key cost drivers.

Preferred Qualifications:

If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:

  • B.S. in Supply Chain Management, Business Management, Industrial Engineering

  • Expertise to institute transportation network modelling and optimization capabilities

  • Strong contract negotiation skills, ability to conduct vendor negotiations.

  • Excellent communication, organizational, collaborative, and interpersonal skills.

  • Highly numerate with knowledge of planning/scheduling systems

  • Time management and prioritization skills

GSK’s Zebulon site is a global supplier of Respiratory and Solid Dose medicines to patients around the globe and the largest GSK Pharmaceutical secondary manufacturing site in North America.
