GSK is seeking a talented and experienced Cloud Network Engineer to join our dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing our cloud-based network infrastructure. This role requires a deep understanding of cloud networking technologies, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with various teams across the organization.
Key responsibilities:
· Design and deploy scalable, secure, and high-performance cloud network solutions across various cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
· Monitor, manage, and optimize cloud network performance to ensure high availability and reliability.
· Implement and maintain robust network security measures in the cloud environment to protect data and applications.
· Work closely with DevOps, security, and other IT teams to ensure seamless integration and operation of cloud services.
· Maintain comprehensive documentation of cloud network configurations, changes, and operational procedures.
· Develop and implement automation scripts and tools to streamline cloud network operations and management.
· Provide tier-2/3 support for cloud network-related incidents and service requests.
· Stay up-to-date with emerging cloud networking technologies and best practices to continuously improve the cloud network environment.
Your Key Stakeholders are…
· Director Cloud Network: Accountable to ensure processes are followed for all Cloud services strategy, designs, and implementations. Provide feedback for improvement.
· Cloud Network Architect: Collaborate daily to challenge status quo and present ideas for improvements in delivery of services
· Vendors: Routinely act as SME for 100+ simultaneous projects in fulfilment of services to the business
· EHS Engineering: Collaborate as needed to look for optimized delivery pipelines for applications and network
Why you?
Basic Qualifications:
· Minimum of 8 years of experience in network engineering, with at least 5 years focused on cloud networking.
· Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Advanced Networking - Specialty, Microsoft Certified: Azure Network Engineer Associate, or Google Cloud Professional Network Engineer are highly desirable.
· Proficiency in cloud networking services and technologies across major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP).
· Experience with virtual private cloud (VPC), subnets, routing, VPN, and hybrid cloud connectivity.
· Knowledge of network security best practices, firewalls, and encryption protocols.
· Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or ARM templates.
· Experience with network monitoring and diagnostic tools in cloud environments.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
· Ability to think differently, to create positive destruction of status quo, and communicate ideas effectively in writing
Preferred Qualifications:
· Five years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with a solid understanding of its technological trends.
· Passionate about enhancing the customer experience.
· Experienced in initiating and delivering large-scale operational programs.
· Experience with management of environments with 100K plus users
· Skilled in operating systems and database administration.
· Proficient in agile and waterfall delivery methodologies.
