Location: Preferred Philadelphia or London. Flexible location possible.
Within GSK’s Vaccine business, as Snr Global Marketing director (Snr GMD) you are expected to generate Long Term Value for GSK and ultimately improve the lives of patients around the world. In this role you’ll develop and stretch to be best in industry across key Global Strategy and Enterprise Leadership Capabilities.
Under the 2025 vision of GPS Vaccines, the Snr Director will be responsible for delivering quality global product strategies, with greater emphasis on life cycle innovation and evidence generation, developing less but more-powerful content generation to support markets, and have closer, more effective strategic partnerships with R&D Medical Affairs, Market Access, and Global Supply Chain teams.
Job Purpose
The Snr GMD HCP Strategy role will be accountable for strategic processes and operational delivery across the Vaccines Global – from leadership of the Global Team governance and strategic processes; supporting and preparing Exec Leadership communications; and commercial lead on developing Global Forecasts and ambitions. The Snr GMD Strategic Ops role is the quarter back in the GMD team – seeing the whole field.
Key Responsibilities
- As the lead for the team governance and strategic processes, you will chairing the Vaccines Commercialization Team (VCT), setting the agenda of strategic priorities and KPIs for team. You will lead the annual strategic planning process, and other governance and operations processes within the team including RMCB and developing Snr Leadership reports.
- You will be the commercial lead for QBR ensuring clear communication for Exec Leadership and Investor Relations each Qtr, working collaboratively with Communications, Finance, and IR.
- You will lead the Long Range Forecast process each year, working with the key markets, leveraging data, insights, external partners and internal contacts to build a robust insight driven forecast. This may include leadership for FRC and supporting in managing global supply chain.
- Finally, this role will be accountable for ensuring alignment in communication to the markets on strategy and supporting initiatives, including supporting materials
- Communicate, collaborate with and influence senior stakeholders, cross-functional leaders across the Regions, LOC Vaccines business heads and General Managers, through mature, credible interactions and engagements
- Lead the partnership with R&D, Medical Affairs, Market Access, and other teams to ensure successful launch planning and market activities.
- Lead the monitoring and tracking of performance metrics (lead and lag measures) to enable execution of critical activities. If necessary, quickly identify issues and partner to co-create course correction plans
- Lead strategic relationships with consultants as needed.
- Align plans and activities across functions to deliver business objectives.
- Lead a high performing Strategic Operations team (including a Operations Manager)
- Identify commercial business risks and mitigation actions.
- Be a role model and embed the GSK culture.
Experience required
- BU Head experience and / or GM experience. Marketing Lead of Tier 1/2 countries – with a focus on vaccines preferred.
- Examples of outstanding leadership capabilities and consistent performance in commercial roles.
- Ability to convey complex information simply. Capacity to network effectively and build strong relationships across different countries and cultures and functions.
- Ability to learn new concepts and data quickly along multiple dimensions - including but not limited to: scientific data, business drivers/ challenges.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, fluent in English (written and spoken), with mastery of other languages as additional asset.

- Proven and integrative leadership in engaging multiple teams:
- Engaging, empowering, collaborative and decisive leadership style with well-developed relation building skills that builds trust, credibility and establishes networks.
- Ability to apply leadership skills to achieve an integrated commercial viewpoint to product/vaccines development in both line and matrix settings.
- Demonstrated cultural sensitivity and tact while working across cultures.
- Generates confidence in the internal and external community by leveraging a range of touch points to represent and position vaccines/GSK as a market, scientific ethical leader in their given therapeutic area.
- Beneficial to have experience in multiple therapeutic areas/ assets at different stages of life cycle/ experience of R&D or Pricing & Market Access.
