シニアマネジメントへの提案と意思決定の支援

  • 事業性評価、ビジネスケース、売上予測、および商標や製品包装の提案を行い、日本やリージョンのシニアマネジメントの承認を得る。
  • 社内のガバナンスにおいて、パイプライン製品に関する重要な意思決定プロセスを支援する。

上市準備の主導とマーケティングへの移管

  • マーケティング組織が確立されるまでの初期的な上市準備プロセスをリードする。
  • 本格的な上市準備に先立ち、マーケティング部門へコマーシャルの責任を円滑に移管する。

シニアマネージャーに期待される追加の責任

Identification of Unmet Needs and Strategic Planning

  • Develop a deep understanding of the Japanese healthcare landscape and market characteristics to identify unmet needs of patients and healthcare professionals.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of market trends, competitive landscape, and R&D advancements to define the positioning and competitive edge of our pipeline assets (pharmaceuticals and vaccines).

Evaluation of Commercial Viability and Value Maximization of Pipeline Products

  • Develop commercial strategies for the Japanese market from early to late-stage development to ensure a successful product launch.
  • Lead the evaluation of commercial viability, business case development, and sales forecasting for pipeline products in Japan, driving the maximization of product and portfolio value.

Collaboration with Japan and Global Teams

  • Work closely with Japan’s cross-functional teams (R&D, regulatory, medical, government affairs, supply chain, marketing, etc.) to lead the development of new product strategies.
  • Serve as the commercial lead for assigned products in Japan, collaborating closely with global teams to ensure that the Japanese market perspective is reflected in global strategies.

Senior Management Engagement and Decision Support

  • Conduct commercial viability assessments, develop business cases and sales forecasts, and propose trademarks and packaging strategies to secure approval from senior management in Japan and the region.
  • Support key decision-making processes related to pipeline products within internal governance.

Leadership in Launch Preparation and Transition to Marketing

  • Lead initial launch preparation processes until a dedicated marketing team is established.
  • Ensure a smooth transition of commercial responsibilities to the marketing function ahead of full-scale launch preparations.

  • Ability to analyze market data, healthcare policy trends, competitive landscape, and medical needs to formulate strategic insights.

Communication Skills for Decision Support

  • Strong coordination skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams across Japan and global.
  • Ability to present clear, data-driven narratives that support decision-making.

Leadership

  • Capability to influence and drive strategic planning at the product, disease area, or organizational level (for Senior Manager roles).

Team Development (For Senior Manager roles)

  • Experience in developing and executing product positioning and launch strategies.

Market and Competitive Analysis

  • Ability to assess market and competitive landscape to develop differentiation strategies.

Sales Forecasting and Business Case Development

  • Experience in building sales forecasts and/or business cases based on insights into the Japanese market.

Scenario Planning

  • Ability to anticipate market dynamics and competitive shifts, develop multiple strategic options, and prioritize actions accordingly.

Financial Analysis

  • Experience in ROI and NPV evaluations and/or P&L creation.

Project Management

  • Ability to coordinate across multiple functions, manage trade-offs in decision-making, and drive optimal outcomes.

Analytical Tools

  • Experience using market data (e.g., IQVIA, JMDC) and data analytics tools (e.g. SAS).

Understanding of Healthcare Policy

  • Ability to assess the impact of healthcare policies and regulatory changes on the market and incorporate them into strategy development.

Understanding of Therapeutic Areas

  • Knowledge or experience in therapeutic areas such as oncology, specialty (respiratory, immunology and inflammatory diseases), and infectious diseases/vaccines would be beneficial. Experience in other disease areas is also welcome.
