As a Finance Director at GSK you will be offered a great breadth and depth of opportunity and challenge. Finance provides the partnership, strategic guidance and support services that our business units need to operate efficiently and effectively. This enables them to focus on developing, manufacturing and delivering medicines, vaccines and products to the patient and consumers who need them. Whether supporting the commercial businesses, one of the Global Support Functions or being part of the Corporate Finance team, effective Finance Partnering at GSK sits at the heart of all strategic and operational decisions – providing insight, shaping options and driving results. This provides a unique vantage point from which to truly understand GSK, as well as to experience a variety of the different business units and environments.
This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career, these responsibilities include some of the following…
- Lead the development, preparation & presentation of strategic plans, budgets & forecasts for GSK Hong Kong
- Review the operations of the Pharmaceutical businesses, making necessary analysis & recommendations to local management to enable delivery of financial targets.
- Provide insightful financial and business input to decision making and evaluation of strategic options to optimize resource allocation and ROI. Provide key counsel to the General Manager on business issues.
- Lead & develop the Finance team including in the hub & their integration within the business, sponsor employee development processes within the function.
- Lead & manage the preparation of monthly, interim & annual accounts so that they are compliant with local & corporate statutory guidelines.
- Proactively study legislation & proposed changes in the law which affect company operations & ensure appropriate recommendations/actions to ensure compliance.
- Manage credit control policies & working capital to maximize cash flow generated from operations
- Manage external relationships with banks, auditors & tax authorities to achieve company objectives.
- Lead development of 3-year plans for the business
- Provide product analysis /profitability for sales /marketing decisions
- Propose necessary actions to manage expenses & working capital employed
- Key communication link with Regional /Corporate Finance

Experience/Knowledge/Technical Skills Required:
- Business Degree
- Professional Accounting designation
- Extensive experience of leading a finance function within a commercial organization. Previous experience of Finance Director Commercial market would be required
- Extensive knowledge of financial management & accounting theory, practices standards & internal controls
- Business-established network highly desirable
- Demonstrated resiliency & adaptability to lead the finance function in a complex, marketing driven environment
- Demonstrated ability in managing tax & treasury issues
- Proven team builder, ability to motivate, coach & develop people
