Job Description

Guardant Health is already helping thousands of cancer patients and we’re looking for an People Operations Coordinator who can help us during another growth phase. As a member of our People Operations team, you will ensure smooth operations in a fast-paced environment.

The People Operations Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the People Team. This role ensures smooth execution of people-related processes and provides excellent service to employees and managers. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and passionate about creating a seamless employee experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Onboarding
    • Lead the onboarding process for new hires, including I-9 verification, document review, and compliance tasks.
    • Ensure all onboarding documents are collected, reviewed, and accurately filed.
  • Employee Records Management
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date physical and digital employee records in accordance with company policies and compliance requirements.
    • Assist with data entry and ensure data integrity within the Human Resource Information System (HRIS).
  • HR Administrative Support
    • Recommend and implement best practices for administrative tasks related to people processes.
    • Monitor the People Team email inbox, mail, faxes, and voicemails, ensuring timely responses.
    • Answer first-line employee questions through the HRIS case management system.
  • Contingent Worker Process
    • Assist in managing the contingent worker process in the HRIS.
    • Provide support to managers by answering questions and ensuring compliance within the system.
  • Termination and Offboarding
    • Facilitate the termination process by sending offboarding documents, preparing separation agreements, and coordinating with IT and Payroll for final steps.
  • Employee Communication
    • Create and issue employment-related letters, such as verification of employment and job change notifications (e.g., promotions).
  • Training Coordination
    • Assist with scheduling training courses and sending necessary preparation materials to enrolled employees.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent experience may be considered.

Experience:

  • One year of administrative or HR-related experience is preferred. Internships or relevant coursework will be considered.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency with HRIS platforms (e.g., Workday) is a plus.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Be self motivated and able to work independently and as part of a team while practicing discretion with confidential information.

Additional Information

Hybrid Work Model: At Guardant Health, we have defined days for in-person/onsite collaboration and work-from-home days for individual-focused time. All U.S. employees who live within 50 miles of a Guardant facility will be required to be onsite on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. We have found aligning our scheduled in-office days allows our teams to do the best work and creates the focused thinking time our innovative work requires. At Guardant, our work model has created flexibility for better work-life balance while keeping teams connected to advance our science for our patients.

The US hourly range for this full-time position is $21.23 to $28.66. The range does not include benefits and, if applicable, overtime, bonus, commission, or equity. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries across all US locations for the posted role with the exception of any locations specifically referenced below (if any).

For positions based in Palo Alto, CA or Redwood City, CA, the hourly range for this full-time position is $26.54 to $35.82. The range does not include benefits and, if applicable, overtime, bonus, commission, or equity.

Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including, but not limited to, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. If you are selected to move forward, the recruiting team will provide details specific to the factors above.

Employee may be required to lift routine office supplies and use office equipment. Majority of the work is performed in a desk/office environment; however, there may be exposure to high noise levels, fumes, and biohazard material in the laboratory environment. Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
