General Responsibilities:

The ITB Application Engineer specializing in SAP/ERP systems and IT project management will be responsible for providing strategic leadership, direction, and oversight for the implementation, maintenance, and enhancement of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems. They will also develop, manage, and lead project teams to ensure successful delivery of IT projects aligned with business goals.

Job Summary:

  • Execute the company's ERP strategy, including system selection, implementation, and integration with other business systems.
  • Lead and oversee ERP implementation projects, ensuring they are completed within scope, budget, and timelines.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to identify business needs, process improvements, and system enhancements to optimize ERP performance.
  • Manages jointly with the other business groups for a common SAP system governance.
  • Provide guidance and support to the IT team in managing ERP systems, including expertise in middleware (e.g., MuleSoft, GoAnywhere) for seamless integrations.
  • Negotiate contracts/SOWs with third party implementation partners and managed services resources to agreed upon SLA’s
  • Manage 3rd party resources supporting the application footprint.
  • Designs or re-engineers recognized SAP “best practices” that properly and efficiently utilize the existing portfolio of applications and IT resources.
  • Assists efforts of a global services delivery that leverages long term growth throughout the company. Directs and supports an organization that is a combination of internal employees and consultants.
  • Develops an effective network of key “super” users to provide end-user support & activate for realizing continuous process improvement.
  • Analyzes industry, technology and market trends to introduce art-of-the-possible IT capabilities to the enterprise as enterprise value levers
  • Ensure adherence to best practices, data security, and compliance standards in ERP system operations.
  • Sets standards and controls for SAP change management processes
  • Manage and coordinate activities surrounding data downloads, file transfers, and data integration for ERP systems.
  • Build and lead a high-performing IT team that collaborates effectively both within the IT department and with business units.
  • Set clear performance objectives, monitor employee performance, and provide coaching to foster individual and team growth.
  • Ensure IT policies and procedures are followed consistently across the organization.

Qualifications:

Knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • Proven expertise in scoping, architecting, and implementing ERP solutions to meet business requirements.
  • Solid understanding of ERP integrations using middleware tools (e.g., MuleSoft, GoAnywhere) for seamless data transfer and system interactions.
  • Experience in managing data downloads, file transfers, and data integration processes for ERP systems.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a collaborative approach in working with diverse teams, customers, vendors, and third parties.
  • Strong customer service orientation with the ability to multitask and handle interruptions effectively.
  • Commitment to adhering to safety policies and guidelines.
  • Willingness to take on special projects as directed by senior management.
  • Ability to work in both office and manufacturing environments.
  • Availability to work outside of core business hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays when required for system upgrades or migrations.
  • Experience in EDI management

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in IT or related area or equivalent experience in ERP Development, Management, or IT Business Systems.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 8 years of Enterprise Information Technology experience with a focus on ERP systems and project management.
  • Prior experience with ERP systems such as SAP S/4 HANA, Glovia, and/or Infor (System21 or XA) is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with middleware tools (e.g., MuleSoft, GoAnywhere) for ERP integrations is highly desirable.

Working conditions:

  • Physical Demands: Required to sit or stand for long periods of time. The ability to lift 30-50 lbs without assistance.
  • Travel: Local and/or international travel will be required as needed (25%) including some extended stays on location for education or deployments. Must have a valid driver’s license and Passport.
