We are currently looking to strengthen our phase II & III team through the recruitment of a Business Development Manager/Senior Business Development Manager to support our business development activities covering clients in EMEA. As a Business Development Manager/Senior Business Development Manager you will hold responsibility for selling our phase II and III services that ICON provides to our clients. This will be a mix of working with existing accounts to build and strengthen the relationship as well as identifying and securing new accounts. You’ll work alongside operational and therapeutic experts to develop and deliver sales strategies at account and project levels.


Key to the role is the ability to listen to and understand client needs so that client success through the use of our phase II & III solutions can be maximized. This includes interacting with clients during and after implementation as a key point of contact alongside our project teams, thereby ensuring client satisfaction and identifying opportunities to expand our deployment footprint where appropriate. This may include identifying areas of our solution that need to be enhanced to meet individual client needs.

The Business Development Manager is a manager of client relationships by developing knowledge of the client's business objectives, goals, markets and needs in order to deliver appropriate solutions. The focus of the position is to serve as primary interface to assigned clients, responsible for overall relationship, sales targets and satisfaction. Provide feedback to Operations, other divisional Business Development representatives and all appropriate cross-functional departments regarding client and market needs and competitive data. Perform responsibilities in a professional manner, meeting the Company’s mission and goals. Face time and industry networking is imperative to building relationships with existing and prospective clients.

You will be part of a well-established and long-tenured European BD team and will be encouraged to work both independently and in collaboration with your colleagues as applicable within one of the world’s leading CROs.

You will need:
To be successful in this role you should have a solutions sales background preferably in a CRO, Vendor, Biotechnology or Pharmaceutical environment.
You will also have a Bachelor’s Degree in Life Sciences, Technology or a related discipline.
Knowledge of and experience in selling clinical trials services and/or clinical trial technologies would be a distinct advantage.
