The person in this role will be a member of the team of global product marketing managers with a responsibility for on-market products and new product introductions. This role will include building outbound marketing strategies and campaigns, prioritize suggested activities and drive efforts aligned to the company strategy for the market. The position will include coordination with all of Illumina’s regional marketing teams to ensure standardized global messaging and requires deep understanding of regional healthcare differences. The role will include working cross functionally with different stakeholders from product management, product development, medical affairs, market access, and market development to ensure strategies are aligned across groups and executed in-step with other programs. This position may also work with various external partners to support Illumina’s end-to-end, clinical marketing strategy. A good understanding of the NGS market and the precision medicine landscape is essential for the success of this individual.
Responsibilities
- Collaborates on positioning statements and outbound campaigns for clinical oncology in collaboration with the team and functions across the organization.
- Responsible for leading outbound marketing activities and content creation for new product introductions and on-market products globally for targeted panels.
- Responsible for global coordination of marketing activities and alignment to strategy.
- Responsible to drive the growth expected in the clinical oncology market and tracking of relevant business metrics.
- Contribute to the long-term product and marketing strategy for clinical oncology
- Attend key Oncology conferences and work with customers and KOLs to drive adoption of Illumina’s Oncology portfolio
Requirements
- Global travel to external conferences, internal meetings and customer meetings up to 15% of time
- Ability to present and influence internally and externally with customers, KOLs, etc.
- Ability to work collaboratively across functions in the organization, including (but not limited to) R&D, FP&A, Market Development, Product Management, Medical Affairs, Regional Marketing, Sales, and Corporate Support Functions.
Experience/Education
- BS or MS in scientific discipline required. MBA but preferred.
- 7 years of clinical product marketing experience preferred.
- Proficiency in the rapidly evolving oncology testing market, familiarity with precision medicine initiatives in Pharma, experience with molecular diagnostic technologies, oncology testing applications and NGS utilization in these markets.
- Must have experience marketing to molecular diagnostic laboratories, health care providers a nice to have.
- Must have strong analytical skills and ability to connect detailed analysis to larger strategy;
- Must have demonstrated effective collaboration in matrixed or highly cross-functional business settings;
- Must have demonstrated track record of delivering effective and strategic marketing plans for products on market;
- Should have experience working on companion diagnostic opportunities from either a testing or marketing perspective.
- Experience with NGS markets, diagnostics and/or oncology product lines is strongly preferred.
