Basic Function and Scope of the Position:

Provide technical and operational support to the product and process development, improvements, characterization and sustaining efforts in analytical labs and high volume, multi-product manufacturing environment.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Assist Scientists, NPI Process and Product Engineers in providing direct support to troubleshooting, sustaining and continuous improvement for consumables production lines related to yield, quality and throughput.

  • Executing lab works for development works and engineering studies.

  • Design and execution of controlled experiments to optimize processes; document and analyze process test results.

  • Maintain and ensure efficient operation of labs.

  • Recommend and help implement improvements in a production environment to meet production goals across multiple operations and technologies.

  • Coordinate process validation execution, data collection and summaries.

  • Work with Engineering, Manufacturing and Quality teams to develop processes for new products and improve processes of existing products.

  • Help define technical requirements and write procedures for processes.

Preferred Educational Background:

  • Diploma in Chemical/ Biochemical Engineering, Analytical Chemistry, Chemistry, Biochemistry and/or Bio-related field; or

  • Secondary school with at least 2-4 years of relevant experience in a consumables manufacturing setting.

Preferred Experiential Background:

  • Work experience in the biotech, pharmaceutical industries is desirable.

  • Good math and analytical skills required. Experience summarizing data required.

  • Good verbal and written documentation skills are required. High level of computer skills is a plus. Working knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel and MS Powerpoint is required.

  • Meticulous and able to execute experiments with great attention to details.

  • Demonstrated ability to execute complex tasks and experiments with little supervision.

  • Basic skill in failure analysis of multiple reliability failure modes.

  • Excellent Analytical, Problem Solving and Project Management skills.

  • Excellent team player, interpersonal and communication skill.

  • Independent and able to work well under stress, both internally and across functions and perform multitasking.

  • Dealing with change.

  • Proactive, innovative and self-motivating.

  • Experience with microarray and sequencing technologies a plus.

  • Experience with HPLC, microplate reader, qPCR a plus.

  • Experience with developing consumables processes and products a plus.

  • Possess good understanding of manufacturing process, methodologies and environment a plus

  • Working knowledge of GMP production a plus.

  • Experience with chemical processes preferred.

  • Capable of defining test plans for process and troubleshooting will be a plus.
