Position Summary
The Manufacturing Supervisor is responsible for providing effective leadership and supervision to production personnel and to ensure all team members, operational activities, and autonomous maintenance (TPM) activities, are in compliance with cGMP, quality & safety requirements and achieving operational objectives.
Position Responsibilities
· Complete required training (e.g. cGMP, Safety, Process Work Instructions, Autonomous and/or Operational Maintenance (AM/OM), etc.) within a stipulated time frame.
· Execute tasks strictly following cGMP, Quality, Safety and Work instruction requirements.
· Ensure employees follow safety, quality requirement, and all applicable company policies at all times.
· Ensure proper housekeeping and maintain cleanliness (6S) of the working area.
· Timely report/ escalate any concerns (work-related or personal).
· Meet daily production schedule and performance expectation, factoring in equipment availability
· Able to take on additional tasks or responsibilities when required.
· Familiar with the manufacturing process of the area in charge, including all relevant autonomous management activities.
· Identify potential issues associated to product, process and equipment within shift and work on proactive internal measures to prevent future occurrence under broad direction.
· Improvement work:
o Participate and lead a process improvement team within the same area under broad direction.
o Facilitate an organization's systems and processes relating to continuous improvement (e.g. 6S) and coach team members toward continuous improvement.
o Manage the work instructions of each manufacturing process and to ensure consistent results of the manufacturing operations.
o Execute change management process under supervision.
· Incident investigation and reporting:
o Lead an investigation team under some supervision and is able to submit a good report.
o Provide guidance to team members.
o Adapt different techniques and concepts in technical writing for effective engagement with individuals and/or teams.
· Lead and mentor a group of team members to meet production KPI and corporate goals & targets:
o Provide effective leadership and supervision within shift to meet daily production target, equipment efficiency and shift KPIs with some guidance.
o Co-ordinate & prioritize activities based on production, equipment and supply to meet the objectives.
· Learning and Development:
o Responsible for the skill development of the shift.
o Able to provide guidance to the team.
o Develop On-the-Job (OJT) training programmes for Manufacturing Process Technicians. o Responsible for the overall certification rate of the shift.
· Be a role model for Technician 1-5.
· Production Planning & Resource Management:
o Analyse production resources and manage resource planning to meet production performance and autonomous management activities within own shift with some guidance.
o Analyse equipment capacity and daily sustaining activities to achieve production target with some guidance.

Position Requirements
· Have a good understanding of Manufacturing/ Enterprise systems/
Manufacturing IOT and automations
· Ensure compliance with cGMP, Quality, work safety instructions & practices at
all times
· Complete tasks in a safe and efficient manner.
· High level of discipline and integrity.
· Able to undertake multiple tasks.
· Able to undergo job rotation / cross training.
· Able to work in noisy environment with appropriate personal protection equipment (PPE).
· Able to work in chemical environment with appropriate personal protection equipment (PPE).
· Pass color blindness test without any findings. In Illumina, we handle components/chemicals with different colors, and it is necessary to be able to differentiate and identify the correct components/chemicals (using visual) during operation.
· Possess a positive attitude and sense of urgency.
· Meticulous, keen attention to details and organized.
· Candidate must be able to work 12 hours rotating shifts (4 monthly rotations from day to night and vice versa).
· Able to lead a production team to meet production KPI / schedules and priorities.

Preferred Experience/Education/Skills:
· Minimum 5 years of operations experience for Secondary School / ‘O’ Level / NTC / NITEC/ Diploma / Non-Science or Non-Engineering Degree or equivalent.
· 0-3 years of operations experience for Science and Engineering Degree or equivalent.
· 0-3 years of Supervisory experience.
· Experience in GMP controlled manufacturing/production environment.
· Thorough knowledge of processes.
· Point person to resolve issues elevated by support personnel.
· Knowledge in automation / IOT / Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) will have added advantage.
For Formulation team only
· Education major in Science stream/ Biotechnology/ Chemical Process Technology.
· Experience in Biochemistry / Biotechnology / Chemical manufacturing production environment.
· Experience in handling enzymes, proteins and antibodies.
· Experience in using basic laboratory instruments (e.g. pH meter, conductivity meter, digital refractometer, osmometer, density meter, UV/Vis spectrophotometer, NanoDrop™ spectrophotometer, micropipettes, weighing balance).
· Experience in using analytical instruments (e.g. Ultra/High performance liquid chromatography, ion chromatography, liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry).
