Business Systems Analyst (Software Procurement)

Position Summary:
Illumina is seeking a highly motivated and team-oriented Business Systems Analyst to mature our software asset management and procurement processes. This includes procurement, deployment, renewal, tracking, and disposal of software assets. The role ensures compliance with licensing agreements, optimizes software usage, and manages vendor relationships to achieve cost-effective procurement and asset management.
Responsibilities:
Software Asset Management:
- Develop and implement software asset management policies and procedures.
- Maintain an accurate inventory of all software assets.
- Ensure compliance with software licensing agreements and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular audits to verify software usage and compliance.
Procurement:
- Manage the procurement process for software, including vendor selection, contract negotiation, and purchase order management.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand software requirements and ensure timely procurement.
- Evaluate and select vendors based on quality, cost, and service.
Vendor Management:
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with software vendors and service providers.
- Monitor vendor performance and address any issues or discrepancies.
- Negotiate favorable terms and conditions with vendors to optimize costs.
Financial Management:
- Develop and manage the software asset budget.
- Track and report on software asset expenditures.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvement
Requirements: Overall 2-5 years experience
- At least 3 years working within IT Service Management.
- At least 2 years’ experience in Software Asset Management and procurement.
- Strong knowledge of software licensing and compliance
- Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and manage time effectively amongst multiple priorities.
- Experience using enterprise tools such as ServiceNow and Ariba.
- Experience working in a regulated environment within a global company (preferred).
- Exceptional knowledge of ITIL processes (preferred).
Education:
Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Business, or related field preferred or equivalent work experience.
