Position Summary

The Physical Security Systems Specialist will serve in a critical role on the expanding Illumina Global Security Team, providing broad support to the team and helping to manage security systems and security related system projects across the security continuum.

This role is based at Illumina NorthTech Building in Singapore. The scope of the position is both global and site-specific in nature with ability to be involved in projects that impact the global platforms. The Physical Security Systems Specialist will report to the Sr. Manager of Global Security Systems and Technology and will focus on security systems repair & maintenance, regional planning and oversight of systems projects, installation of new security devices, developing and streamlining internal processes while collaborating closely with stakeholders, as well as day to day systems maintenance for regional locations.

The successful candidate will be a high-energy team player who is eager to learn and develop, and able to support multiple or competing priorities within the Security organization. Optimism, a desire to technologically advance the department, strong cross-functional collaboration, and project coordination skills are a must. Responsibilities

  • Maintain regional physical access control and video recording systems, visitor management, mass notification, and other security related systems.
  • Troubleshoot and complete basic repairs for systems related break / fix tickets, and other necessary electronic security needs.
  • Achieve timely and cost-effective completion of security system installations through effective communication and problem-solving, participating and collaborating with multidisciplinary internal and external vendors and efficiently identifying and using resources necessary to complete multiple projects simultaneously. Emphasis of projects will be on regional application upgrades, implementations, integrations, and lifecycle management
  • Ensure security objectives are met throughout design development, construction, and turnover of operations, in accordance with our Strategic and Business Plan objectives
  • Follow procurement/RFP processes and make recommendations to leadership for contract award and vendor selection
  • Define global, scalable processes to mature the security systems infrastructure of the company
  • Provide Tier 2 Security System support for ongoing maintenance and service calls globally
  • Provide expertise to relay security systems technical requirements to internal and external IT stakeholders
  • Maintain the established development environment for Security Systems applications, testing software and hardware prior to deployment into production
  • Represent Illumina's interests with subject matter expertise to established configurations and standards for security systems deployment
  • Develop security systems analytics to provide senior leadership with digestible and actionable data
  • Ensure compliance of security systems and protocols to conform to requirements or policies as dictated by InfoSec, Human Resources, and EH&S in the handling of proprietary and/or sensitive data and the selection of hardware to be deployed and managed within the enterprise environment
  • Ensure implementations meet certification requirements as dictated by relevant business units (ISO/HIPAA/GDPR)

Required Qualifications:

  • 4-6 years working in the security services industry with previous experience using or administering enterprise security systems (Lenel, Milestone, Genetec, etc.)
  • 2+ years of experience in project or program management
  • Working understanding of IT systems and/or network infrastructure with an understanding of database administration or Software as a Service (SAAS) experience
  • Tactical experience with security technology hardware, preferably Lenel and Milestone
  • Computer literate with proficiency in Word, Excel, and cloud-based tools such as Asana, Jira, and Confluence
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Detail oriented with a high sense of urgency
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work rotating and non-traditional hours as needed (evenings, overnights, weekends, holidays)
  • Ability to work independently with little direct supervision

Education:

  • Degree in IT Systems Management, Security/Emergency Management, or related field; equivalent work experience
  • Knowledge of physical security system & design standards
  • Lenel Certified Professional (LCP) or equivalent preferred
  • Milestone Technical Configuration Level 2 or equivalent preferred
  • Physical Security Professional (PSP) preferred
  • Advanced understanding of IT infrastructure and optimization preferred
