As Associate Director HR Operations, you will lead our talented People Support and Care (PS&C) team, who are based across the Europe region. You will manage the team that oversees employee relations, policies, procedures, and programs intended to promote a positive company culture and employment experience, across Illumina’s Europe Region. The role works in close partnership with other HR team members and Illumina management to develop and implement effective processes and procedures related to workforce management, while ensuring compliance with regional laws and regulations. The role supports the development of HR metrics, data management, analysis and reporting to influence proactive action. The role also serves as an in-house project consultant, guiding the planning and execution of projects from initiation through delivery.

You will have strong leadership skills to inspire and guide the team, as well as expertise in HR and employment law in Europe. You will have experience in an international setting – handing employee relations across multiple regions, understanding cultural differences and navigating different employment laws.
You will be an expert in conflict resolution techniques, including a strong sense of empathy, neutrality and confidentiality. You will be an expert in managing change, having the ability to lead change initiatives across multiple jurisdictions including restructuring, cultural transformation and adapting to new regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities include
- Lead a team of HR Generalists, responsible for performance management, employee relations, sickness absence, policy and process management across Europe.
- Collaboration and alignment: partner closely with HR leadership, HRBPs and leaders to understand business needs, drive collaboration and ensure HR service delivery.
- Primary focus on establishing, operationalising and scaling HR services.
- Drive the implementation of HR share services delivery models.
- Ensures compliance with regulatory/legal requirements and company policies/procedures across region and countries.
- Drive change while ensuring processes are documented and automated as applicable while engaging COE and key partners.
- Identifies, implements and documents process improvements and automation opportunities for global HR processes at each stage of employee life cycle.
- Programme manage multiple jurisdiction organisational changes – from training, execution and stakeholder engagement.
- Foster positive employee relations, lead on complex ER cases and manage people policy development. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from employee disputes.
- Provides expertise to support the development, design, implementation and administration of employee programs, practices, and policies to meet the changing needs of the organization.
- Drive positive outcomes towards the company DEI and social impact programmes.
- Data analysis and reporting: Develop and maintain robust data analytics. Analyzes employee relations trends and metrics to develop solutions, programs, and policies.
- Provide high quality HR advice and guidance on complex employment issues relation to both individuals and groups of staff and implementation employee relations interventions that have a demonstrable impact on organization success.
- Responsible for ensuring internal and external audits are supported.
- Supports strategic alignment across company sites with respect to employee services, programs, and activities.
