Position Description:

Senior Scientist, Discovery Oncology

We are seeking a highly qualified and motivated scientist with a strong background in cancer drug discovery to join a cross-functional team within Discovery Oncology.

The successful candidate will have a track record of innovative and collaborative research demonstrated through peer-reviewed publications. Primary responsibilities will include designing and executing experiments in the laboratory to support our Company’s drug discovery programs. The Senior Scientist will operate in a highly collaborative and matrixed environment; the ability to communicate clearly and collaborate effectively with colleagues from different disciplines is essential.

In this exciting role, you will:

  • Conduct cancer research that spans multiple therapeutic modalities, target validation, OMICS profiling and mechanistic studies

  • Independently design and conduct assays, interpret, and report high quality data in a clear and concise manner to support cancer drug discovery programs.

  • Collaborate with colleagues in different departments, including Discovery Oncology, Pharmacology, Chemistry, Biologics, Data Sciences, Clinical Development, and other functions to initiate and execute new drug discovery programs

  • Monitor, review, and critically interpret published work to guide internal research

Position Qualifications:

Education Minimum Requirement:

  • Ph.D. in cell and molecular biology or related field and0-5 years of experience

Required Experience and Skills:

  • Extensive wet lab experience in cancer biology

  • Hands on expertise in molecular and cell biology techniques such as cloning, Western blot, RT-PCR, multi-color flow cytometry, and ELISA/MesoScaleDiscovery

  • Hands on expertise in multiple methods of genetic perturbation (siRNA, shRNA, CRISPR using lentivirus and RNPs, inducible systems)

  • Experience with model and assay development

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently to design and perform key experiments, interpret data, troubleshoot, and suggest next steps

  • Evidence of successful collaboration that demonstrates the ability to work and thrive in a team environment

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Proven record of innovative thinking to propose and champion new ideas and solve problems
