Job Summary (Primary function)
The Dermatology Business Director (DBD) leads a team dedicated to success within the dermatology community. The role provides strong leadership and direction and focuses on consistently achieving or exceeding revenue targets for the U.S. Incyte Dermatology business unit. The Director plays a critical role in successful promotion of Incyte products, driving demand and successfully launching future medications within the dermatology specialty. Keys to success will be scientific or biologic product experience, strong leadership skills and people development. The ability to lead and provide direction around product strategy platforms, maximize business opportunities and work collaboratively with other key functions are critical to the role.
Essential Functions of the Job (Key responsibilities)
- Employ strong leadership skills, develop business plans for their regions, and implement national sales strategies to consistently achieve or exceed revenue targets.
- Recruit, hire, develop and retain top talent for Dermatology Therapeutic Specialist roles.
- Conduct sales meetings to drive performance.
- Evaluate and coach field sales team members on selling skills, product, disease state and the dermatology market.
- Communicate and coach the execution of product strategies and business plans.
- Conduct annual and ongoing performance reviews.
- Provide direction to sales team on the marketing, allocating, monitoring and leveraging of internal/external resources (e.g., discretionary spend).
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state and company policies.
- Represent in a professional, compliant and ethical manner.
Qualifications (Work experience and competencies)
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- A minimum of 5+ years of successful biotech/pharmaceutical sales leadership experience, preferably in immunology or dermatology.
- Demonstrated solid understanding of the evolving dermatology marketplace and its various customer segments.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of market access reimbursement and patient access.
- Documented history of successful product launches in a highly competitive market.
- Exceptional knowledge of scientific selling and recent launch experience with highly scientific products or biologic products in immunology or dermatology space.
- Work effectively in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Exceptional sales leadership qualities, the ability to be strategic, lead and motivate.
- Must possess well-established relationships within area of responsibility at a regional and local level with dermatologists and NP/PA’s.
- Documentation of success in annual reviews and up-to-date sales reports.
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, and database applications.
- Valid Driver's License and an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to travel 50% of the time.
