Summary:
The Scientist/Senior Scientist, Deep Learning will be an individual with considerable biological
expertise to join our team. We offer a flexible work environment, a diverse set of projects, and

Responsibilities:
· Design, develop, validate, and deploy state-of-the-art deep learning models for high-dimensional biological data, including imaging, protein datasets, and high throughput Screening.
· Drive deep learning R&D projects from design through implementation, deployment into production, and maintenance.
· Work closely with scientists, engineers, and product managers to integrate subjects matter knowledge and scientific requirements into the design of deep learning systems
· Measure and benchmark model and application performance with the product team.
· Translate best-in-class and in-house developed methods into hardened workflows and tools with a high degree of autonomy, setting the design and direction for end-to-end systems.
· Work with the deep learning team to assess and review new developments for deep
learning systems.
· Follow all company policies and procedures including safety guidelines and protocols.
Qualification/Experience:
· PhD or equivalent in a quantitative field (e.g., computer science, computational biology, bioinformatics, statistics, or mathematics) with 2+ years of work experience.
· Specific experience with deep learning models using cellular imaging is required.
· Extensive experience with deep learning on biological datasets, including deep engagement with biological subject matter and validation.
· Hands-on knowledge of modern deep learning frameworks, including their integration into production workflows.
· Familiarity with GPU based technologies.
· Experience in industrial software engineering for Python, including testing practices, software design, and distributed infrastructure for deep learning.
· Demonstrated comfort with coding in a team environment writing clean, maintainable code, and using the modern software dev stack (Git, Docker, virtual environments, app
frameworks, etc.)
· Rigorous understanding of emerging and foundational machine learning methods, including deep learning (transformers, CNNs, and other architectures), regularized regression and classification modeling, ensemble learning, and dimensionality reduction.
· Track record of published collaborative research in deep learning, machine learning, biology, and related fields.
· Outstanding team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Experience in protein deep learning models is preferred.
· General experience with LLMs is preferred.
· PyTorch knowledge preferred.
· Experience with common AWS services (IAM, EC2, S3, Lambda, Batch, etc.), as well as
relational databases (i.e., Postgres) is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
The employee is frequently required to bend, stand, walk, sit, and use hands to manipulate, handle or feel items (i.e.: lab instruments). The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs of weight and use a ladder. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
The employee frequently is required to sit in a lab chair, and/or stand at a lab bench and be mobile. The employee needs both hands to work with small lab instruments.

Salary Range: 140k – 270k DOE
