We are seeking an enthusiastic Senior Manager/Associate Director of Medical Communications to lead critical initiatives in shaping medical and scientific narratives. This role requires expertise in therapeutic landscapes, leadership skills to advance cross functional projects, and leading the development of communication plans that align with strategic imperatives. This individual will drive the creation of innovative resources for external engagement, oversee the development of scientific communication platforms, and manage content for medical affairs booths, symposia, and digital assets. Reporting to the Executive Director, Medical Communications and Publications; you will positively impact patients’ lives by:

  • Acting as a subject matter expert with strong business acumen allowing for deep understanding of unmet medical needs and therapeutic landscape
  • Collaborating and building strong cross-functional relationships with stakeholders for specific products or therapeutic areas of focus
  • Leading the planning and execution of content for and design of Medical Affairs booth materials, creation of FAQs, scientific symposia, pre-con preparation materials, and digital assets for various Media Channels (i.e. website, social media, third party)
  • Generating an Annual Medical Communications Plan for specific products or indications based on scientific and unmet medical needs
  • Developing innovative approach to internal and external resources or tactics that promote impactful external engagements and supports the strategy of key medical stakeholders, and enable broad use and application of materials in different channel engagements
  • Developments and update the scientific communication platform (SCP) aligned with strategic medical imperatives, with an understanding of how this platform will inform the overall Medical Affairs and Brand strategy
  • Ensuring delivery of high-quality, fair-balanced, scientifically/clinically accurate medical communications deliverables in accordance with established timelines, compliance guidelines/policies, and budgets
  • Managing external medical agencies assisting with medical content planning and development, ensuring that all medical communication initiatives remain on strategy, within budget, and are executed in a timely manner.

Candidate Profile & Requirements:

  • Doctoral level degree (Ph.D., Pharm.D., or M.D.) (preferred) in life sciences with minimum of 8 years bio-pharmaceutical industry experience within Medical or Clinical Affairs
  • At least 3 years of experience in Medical Communications
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to understand and effectively communicate complex scientific and clinical data to internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience in the development and ownership of omnichannel strategy and/or digital engagement strategy for medical affairs required.
  • Clinical knowledge in Oncology and particularly Hematology/Oncology
  • Critical thinking - willing to challenge the status quo.
  • Ability to understand, critically analyze, and summarize complex scientific and medical data and understand risk taking approach regarding claims.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, thinks critically, and adheres to deadlines.
  • Ability to adapt to rapidly changing priorities or business needs
