Description


The medical writer is responsible for communicating scientific and medical information to a variety of audiences. This key role within the Clinical Research team works with doctors, scientists, and other healthcare professionals to create clear and concise articles and manuscripts. This role also participates in writing projects that include clinical documentation in support of clinical development, trials, journal articles and other publications.

The Medical Writer is based in a Kerecis office and reports to the VP of Regulatory Affairs and Quality Assurance. This is a full-time role.

Essential Functions

  • Interpret and communicate complex scientific and medical information in a clear and concise manner
  • Work with doctors, scientists, and other healthcare professionals to create manuscripts for publication
  • Research, compose and edit clinical/statistical reports and study protocols
  • Conduct comprehensive literature searches
  • Document clinical study results and product use
  • Ensure that all deliverables are in accordance with regulations, standards, and guidelines
  • Summarize data from clinical studies for regulatory submission
  • Stay current on the latest medical and scientific research
  • Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned
Requirements

Competencies

  • Strong writing and editing skills
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and concepts
  • Experience with medical writing software
  • Ability to write in a variety of styles, including technical, scientific
  • Ability to adhere to deadlines
  • Ability to work independently

Preferred experience in -

  • CER, EUMDR (highly preferred)
  • PMCF, SSCP
  • Manuscript publications

Education & Experience

Bachelor's degree in a scientific field required; master's degree or PhD in a scientific or medical field preferred

Experience - 5 - 8 years

Anticipated travel : 0-5%
