The Value Stream Leader (Materials Management) plays a vital role in optimizing the performance of the materials value stream through implementing and maintaining lean conversion principles. The VSL is committed to developing and integrating consistent material flow processes within its areas of responsibility to drive impactful business results.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
  • Responsible for leading the materials management strategy and overseeing Shipping/Outbound, Receiving, Stockroom, Packaging, Material Handling, and Material Flow.
  • Develop and uphold performance metrics for all areas of responsibility. Guide teams in attaining Value Stream, Site-specific, and Corporate KPIs, and foster continuous improvement by implementing Danaher Business System tools.
  • Implementing optimal material and inventory management practices is essential to maintaining transactional accuracy. Supporting cycle counts requires thorough root cause analysis, robust resolution strategies, and comprehensive inventory trend analyses.
  • Integrating cross-functional resources to modernize facilities, equipment, and material flow operations is imperative to enhance capacity, efficiency, and profitability.
  • Engage with the leadership of business units to formulate plans and strategies for enhancing the safety, quality, delivery, inventory, and productivity (SQDIP) performance of the designated Value Stream(s).
  • Monitor planning attributes to ensure that items are effectively planned, including but not limited to MPS/MRP/Min-Max planned, safety stock requirements, minimum order quantities/economical order quantities, fixed lot multipliers, and planning/demand time fence. Review inventory levels, dollars, and turnover, and make necessary adjustments to achieve operational effectiveness and meet corporate delivery expectations with the least possible inventory. It analyzes forecast information and applies the appropriate forecast standard to the product.
  • Utilize the eight disciplines of Quality (8-D Format) for troubleshooting and communicating instances of non-conformance, aiming to enhance the quality performance of the Materials value stream.
The essential requirements of the job include:
  • To be eligible, you must have an associate's degree or higher in Business, Engineering, or a related field and at least five (5) years of experience in Materials Management. This must include at least three (3) years in a supervisory role, with extensive involvement and demonstrated expertise in operations, supply chain, planning, receiving, shipping, and material flow.
  • Demonstrated understanding of fundamental accounting and financial procedures within an operational or manufacturing setting."Computer literacy in MS Office Suite (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Experience in operating effectively within a matrix environment.
  • The role entails overseeing three (3) shifts in a 24/7 operational environment, necessitating the capacity to work across all shifts with flexibility and familiarity with Lean tools such as Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, Tornado, etc.
  • Familiarity with the Eight Disciplines of Quality is important.
Physical/Environment Requirements:
  • Frequent lifting of up to 35 pounds, with the ability to lift up to 50 pounds with assistance daily.
  • Successful completion of the visual acuity examination.
  • Applicants must be capable of standing for prolonged periods (a minimum of 8 hours) and frequently twisting and bending.
  • Must be able to work with solvents, oils, and other chemicals.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
  • Coaching and mentoring.
  • Managing conflict resolution and growing the workforce.
  • Understand broad directions for goals and objectives and accomplish the same.
