Job Description

Position Summary

This is a role in the Quality Assurance (QA) department in which the specialist aids in the certification of reference materials by way of compiling, organizing, and maintaining the analytical data. The coordinator will be responsible for the testing of samples for homogeneity, transport, and stability analysis. The coordinator will receive test data from the analytical lab, summarize the data in report, and update management on current status of various products. The role is also responsible for monitoring and supporting activities related to LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System), audits, and quality compliance programs with the applicable quality management systems. The individual will review quality system procedures, conduct internal audits, and participate in company quality projects as requested.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Process and report analytical data generated by the analytical lab to determine the validity of the analysis, product characteristics, and quality release of the product as a certified reference material as per ISO standard 17034.
  • Ensure a clear and efficient process for maintaining all relevant products
  • Maintain and update as required all relevant product information
  • Work with LIMS to develop proactive methods for increasing the extent of data availability on products
  • Coordinate production, retain storage, finished product storage, and additional testing schedules for all relevant products
  • Generate requested reports based on compiled data when requested
  • Work with management to respond to complaints, support product investigations, and guide LGC to a satisfactory resolution.
  • Actively participate in corrective actions (RCCA) that result from process flaws and customer complaints.
  • Follow system policies, procedures, and productivity standards in QA Department
  • Active member in the Quality Management System accredited/certified to ISO 17025, 17034, 17043 and 9001.
  • Conduct quality system audits of requested areas
  • Manage web-based software and reporting features.
  • Active member of an ancillary group (Spill Team, Hazardous Waste Coordinator, Safety Committee, First Aid Responder).
  • Exemplify the LGC core values on a day-to-day basis.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

Education/Experience/Licenses/Certifications

Essential

  • High School Diploma, GED, Related experience/training or equivalent
  • Proficient in Microsoft windows
  • Proficient in Microsoft office products
  • Proficient in internet-based application programs

Preferred

  • BA/BS in scientific discipline
  • Knowledge of general Chemistry
  • Familiarity with the Periodic Table of Elements
  • Knowledge of LIMS
  • Knowledge of IFS
