Job Description

Job Purpose

As a Project Manager in the Standards IT team, you will play a pivotal role in delivering projects on the LGC Standards Digital Plan, which align with the strategic direction set by the LGC Standards Senior Leadership Team.

This role is a 6-month contract, during which you will work with senior stakeholders across all areas of the business and on Salesforce projects that deliver Artificial Intelligence (AI) capabilities, operational efficiencies and improvements to processes and data.

Key Responsibilities

  • As a key member of the LGC Standards IT Team, you will lead projects through initiation, definition, execution, testing and transition to BAU in line with the team’s project delivery guidelines.
  • Working with stakeholders for your projects, you will support business case creation and help to define KPIs. You will ensure processes are in place for KPI tracking and benefits realisation post go-live.
  • You will be responsible for creating the project plan, working with members of your project teams to define tasks, align them into a manageable work breakdown structure, and gain stakeholder approval.
  • You will manage risks and issues, and apply LGC’s change control process where appropriate.
  • You will create status reports, maintain RAID logs and regularly communicate progress to internal and external stakeholders.
  • You will estimate costs and resource requirements for your projects and manage those within agreed tolerances.
  • Stakeholder management and third-party supplier management will be a key element of your role, as you will be working with third party vendors that deliver changes to LGC’s CRM platforms Salesforce and Pardot.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Experience and Technical Skills

  • At least 5 years project management experience including working as a Senior Project Manager.
  • Working knowledge of common project and change management methodologies such as Agile and Waterfall. Project management certification is essential.
  • Skilled at RAID (Risk, Assumption, Issue, Dependency) management.
  • Experience at managing multi-discipline projects which include both business and technical resource from initial inception through to delivery and benefits realisation.
  • Proven end-to-end delivery of projects in an IT environment including experience of managing business process change.
  • Excellent communicator used to working with geographically dispersed and diverse teams who can adjust their communication and reporting to different types and levels of stakeholders.
  • A self-starter, with the ability and confidence to work with very light supervision.
  • This is an IT role, so the candidate should have knowledge of common IT technology and applications.
  • While specific knowledge of the life sciences sector is not required for this role, the candidate must have the ability to learn quickly and show enthusiasm to expand their knowledge base and learn new things.
