The site in Visp, Switzerland is growing and for our organization, we are currently looking for a Professional Specialist, Medical Services to join our Team. The general physician / specialist for Internal Medicine is responsible for providing all services related to the medical center requiring a doctor’s degree and senior physician level of experience. This includes primarily performing medical exams, relevant medical treatments as well as acute and emergency medical care. In addition, the role provides physician statements and support on medical matters, health prevention and occupational health topics for Lonza Visp. The physician delivers expertise to all joint ventures and the whole industrial park set-up with cross-company properties (e.g. DSM, Arxada). The role drives the development and successful implementation of the next generation medical services for the several thousand people on premises. The function deputizes the Head of Medical Services for Visp site.

Key responsibilities:

• Support a team of medical experts to establish and maintain Occupational Health services and develop the next generation medical services for the whole industrial park.

• Support concepts and programs around resilience and physical and mental wellbeing.

• Collaborate with key experts from Occupational Safety and Industrial Hygiene to ensure sustainable, effective and customer oriented processes.

• Oversee with a team of medical experts the medical emergency services for the industrial park.

• Steer with the team of medical experts the continuous improvement of the services in line with international and Swiss standards and customer requirements.

• Ensure services are delivered cost conscious and simultaneously with high customer focus and satisfaction.

• Provide guidance and establish partnerships with healthcare service providers (e.g. medical service centers, clinics) in the region to deliver efficient and service oriented healthcare practices.

Key requirements:

• Diploma General physician or Specialist internal Medicine

• Fosters a culture that embraces errors as a source of innovation

• Deliberately uses a structured approach to evaluate work experiences and applies leanings to new situations

• Understands and explains the corporate strategy to his/her peers and/or team

• Provides feed to his/her managers on the content of the strategy and its implementation

• Develops inclusive relationships and alliances engaging internal and external stakeholders

• Demonstrates high integrity and accountability for his/her area ensuring team(s) actions and decisions are aligned to medical objectives.

• Implements and demonstrates the highest standards of safety

• Very strong communication skills in German and English, both verbal and written with all hierarchic levels.
