Key responsibilities

  • Plan the deployment of the corresponding project team (resource planning) by assessing project requirements and aligning team members' skills and availability;

  • Take responsibility for personnel management, ensuring effective coaching and development of employees in line with the Lonza Vision, culture, and competencies. This includes overseeing qualification processes, providing incentives, managing salaries, arranging training opportunities, fostering professional development, and facilitating career progression;

  • Own, and be responsible for, assigned projects/production campaigns, including overseeing their execution from planning to completion;

  • Support the continuous optimization of assigned projects to enhance efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness;

  • Ensure the timely, high-quality, and cost-optimal production of assigned products, while strictly adhering to relevant laws, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to safety, quality, regulatory compliance, hygiene, and environmental protection;

  • Ensure that facilities and processes within their area meet all applicable requirements for safety, occupational hygiene, environmental protection, and cGMP standards;

  • Take charge of contributing to the planning and construction of new facilities (CAPEX investments), particularly focusing on the incorporation of new technologies within the IBEX framework, aiming to enhance efficiency and capabilities;

  • Manage the technical leadership of the project team throughout all stages of the production campaign, including pre-production preparations, execution, and post-production assessments.

  • Provide guidance and direction to team members, ensuring effective coordination and collaboration to achieve project objectives;

  • Take a proactive approach to address technical challenges and ensure the successful completion of the project within defined timelines and quality standards;

  • Ensure and enhance the regular monitoring of performance and outcomes through mechanisms like weekly reports, dashboards, the Hoshin Board, and additional reporting tools;

Key requirements:

  • Hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology, or related fields;

  • Several years of professional experience in chemical or biotechnological production, preferably in leadership positions, MSAT (Manufacturing Science and Technology), Engineering, or similar;

  • Can communicate excellently in English to convey project goals, expectations, and updates to stakeholders and clients;

  • Possess in-depth knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP);

  • Highly organized person with project ownership who can keep track of timelines, deadlines, resources, and budgets to ensure the project stays on track;

  • Have a solid grasp of financial and Human Resource principles and practices;

  • Are energized by cross-functional collaboration and love being part of a team
