DFS - Diagnostic Technician

12hr NIGHT SHIFT

Because of the small size of the operation, the operators will be asked to perform many different tasks. These tasks involve all stages of the process including equipment cleaning, recipe preparation, capsule filling and sealing, machine changeover, product inspection, and product packaging/shipping. The job description is broken into 3 main categories: tank preparation, filling and sealing operation, inspection and packaging operation.

Essential Functions:

  • The responsibilities in the preparation process include cleaning of the feed tanks, weighing and adding of raw materials, mixing or blending of the materials, and transporting the feed tanks to point of use.
  • The responsibilities in the filling and sealing operation include the operation of the Capsule Filling machine and the LEMS sealing machine. The operator is responsible for keeping the equipment running effectively and efficiently, including in-process sampling and quality checks.
  • The responsibilities in the inspection and packaging process include inspecting finished goods for quality defects, operating the vacuum chamber (for leak detection), and packaging/labeling of the finished goods.
  • There will also be some other auxiliary responsibilities around QA checks, raw material handling, and finished goods material handling.
  • Responsible for safely handling and managing any hazardous waste generated in the process.
  • Must be able to work the appropriate shift required for this position.
  • Must be able to work overtime – more than 40 hours per week or 12 hours per day.
  • Attendance on plant site/office site is essential.
  • Must be able to work weekends or holidays as business needs dictate.
  • The Diagnostics Technician (Licaps process) provides backup for other Diagnostics Technician (Licaps process).
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Must be able to work effectively in ambiguous situations. It is imperative to have the ability to work closely with the other operators on shift to fulfill all needed tasks with little supervision.

  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills and must be able to work effectively in a team environment.

  • Must have hands on experience with mechanical equipment. A basic working knowledge of mechanical tools and their use including different types of wrenches, drivers, sockets, pliers, etc…

  • A score of 60% on the Bennett Mechanical test is required.

  • Candidate must have demonstrated problem solving and trouble shooting skills.

  • Passing scores on Work Keys and Mechanical Testing

Desired Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in manufacturing environment.

  • Basic computer skills.
