Job Summary:

The Sequencing Sales Representative is responsible for the direct sales of MGI products in the research and private market in assigned regions. This position will be responsible for developing sales strategies and tactics that achieve the revenue goals of the assigned region(s) through direct and indirect channels.

Responsibilities

  • Seeking out new customers and sales opportunities for driving sequencing products revenue.
  • Develop, implement and monitor the regional business plan to meet assigned target of revenue and strategic objectives.
  • Achieve the quarterly and annual sales and profit plan as assigned.
  • Accurately forecast customer demand (i.e., product quantities and dollars, orders, shipments).
  • Build long term relationships with Key contacts at target customers.
  • Manage automation business with local distributors.
  • Use various lead generation tools to enhance the lead pipeline.
  • Update the CRM system and manage the sales pipeline by reporting opportunity evolution and probabilities.
  • Initiate promotional events for the company.
  • Represent the company at trade events.
  • Follows company guidelines/practices/policies and provides timely development plans to correct for underperformance.
  • Responsible for ensuring that MGI’s commitment to customer satisfaction is performed, delivered, and constantly improved.
  • To drive a high level of interaction and engagement between other departments (e.g., Marketing, Customer Solutions) and local sales team & staff to ensure coordination of activities and alignment on common goals.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or above in a related field.
  • Excellent sales results in the Life Science Capex industry, preferentially in lab automation in research environments.
  • Strong technical background in molecular biology and NGS.
  • Strong communication skills to internal and external audiences.
  • Problem-solving and customer-centric attitude.
  • Patience and the ability to tactfully handle customer negotiations.
  • English and Italian speaking required.
