The Specialist, Inventory & Facilities role is crucial in ensuring the efficient management and enhancement of site management activities, including purchasing, inventory, and facility management. This role will support the improvement of operational efficiency by standardizing purchasing and inventory management processes and facilitating smooth execution of facility management tasks. The Specialist will contribute to the overall achievement of team goals through these initiatives.

Here's What You’ll Do:

  • Purchasing Management:
    • Purchasing Request Coordination: Collect and process purchasing requests from related teams (Production, Analytical Development, R&D, Quality/EHS).
    • Data Analysis: Analyze purchasing data and promote standardization.
    • Vendor Management: Coordinate delivery and installation schedules with vendors, ensuring stable inventory levels. Select the best vendor based on competitive pricing and service offerings.
  • Inventory Management:
    • Data Management: Accurately input incoming data and maintain up-to-date inventory information in the system.
    • Annual Inventory Support: Assist in the annual inventory count under the guidance of the Supply Chain Manager.
    • Cloud System Operation: Support the implementation and operation of inventory management systems.
  • Shipping & Export Procedures:
    • Document Preparation and Processing: Assist in preparing and processing export-related documents, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Facility Management:
    • Maintenance Scheduling: Coordinate and manage maintenance schedules for facilities.
    • Equipment Calibration and Management: Manage calibration schedules and coordinate with vendors and maintenance providers.
  • Digital Operations:
    • Cloud System Support: Assist in the implementation and operation of cloud systems, focusing on data maintenance and electronic record management.
  • BCP & Safety Management:
    • Safety Management Support: Support the preparation of emergency response manuals and periodic drills.
    • BCP Process Improvement: Provide support in improving BCP-related processes.

Here’s What You’ll Need (Minimum Qualifications):

  • Education: Degree in a related field, or equivalent experience in biochemistry or related disciplines.
  • Work Experience:
    • At least 2 years of experience in purchasing, inventory, or facility management, or related fields.
    • Proven ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Language Skills:
    • Japanese: Business-level proficiency (reading, writing, speaking).
    • English: Basic proficiency (capable of basic report writing and email correspondence).
  • Technical Skills:
    • Experience with cloud systems (ERP, purchasing, inventory management systems).
    • Proficiency in MS Office and SharePoint.


Here’s What You’ll Bring to the Table (Preferred Qualifications):

  • Specialized Knowledge
    • Knowledge of laboratory equipment, devices, chemicals, and consumables.
    • Experience in managing inventory, purchasing requests, and vendor selection using cloud-based tools like SharePoint and Excel.
    • Facility management experience, including regular calibration and maintenance scheduling
