Summary

Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, FL is recruiting for MID REVENUE CYCLE CODING EDUCATOR. For Florida residents and other select states (AL, AZ, AR, FL, GA, ID, IN, IA, KS, LA, MS, MO, MT, NC, OH, OK, SC, SD, TN, TX, UT, VA, WY) this full-time remote position offers a remote work arrangement

Position Highlights:

The MID REVENUE CYCLE CODING EDUCATOR provides coding and charging related education and training to providers, nurses, Revenue Integrity (RI) and Health Information Mangement (HIM) staff.

The position is responsible for:
Designing, creating and implementing educational and training curriculum to initiate new processes resulting from initiatives, coding related projects and general coding related matters driven by business needs.

Conducting monthly audits and quality reviews for providers, nurses and Revenue Integrity (RI) and Health Information Mangement (HIM) staff to identify compliance opportunities with clinical documentation and coding and charging guidelines.

Completing projects assigned by the Mid Revenue Cycle Sr Coding Educator aimed to review and improve the quality of the clinical documentation in the patient record and final coding for both professional and technical billing. resulting in the creation of curriculum specific to clinical services and tailor to individual stakeholders.

Completing the education program to onboard RI and HIM new team member. This position documents the new hire progress for the Mid Revenue Cycle Sr Coding Educator sign off at the end of the 90 days introductory period.

Credentials and Experience:

  • Associates degree and three (3) years outpatient and/or professional practice coding experience.
  • In lieu of an Associate's degree a High School Diploma/GED plus five (5) years outpatient and/or
    professional practice coding experience may be considered.

Certification:

Any "one" of the following certifications is required:

  • (CPC-H) Cert Professional Coder-Hosp
  • (CCS) Certified Coding Specialist
  • (CPMA) Professional Certified Medical Auditor
  • (CPC) Cert Professional Coder
  • (COC) Certified Outpatient Coding
  • (CCS-P) Certified Coding Spec-Phys
  • (RHIT) Reg Health Info Technician
  • (RHIA) Reg Health Info Administrator
  • *Any relevant certification not listed above may be reviewed and considered by the business to satisfy this requirement.

Minimum Skills/Specialized Training Required:

  • Experience with automated patient care and coding systems. (Cerner Electronic Health Record, Cerner products Radnet and Surginet,Capstone, OPTUM Enterprise Computer Assisted Coding ("eCAC")and encoder, OPTUM Professional Computer Assisted Coding ("pCAC") and encoder, 3M APC Encoder, ePremis, Patient Keeper, Mosaiq, Soarian financial billing system.)
  • Extensive knowledge of International Classification of Diseases, Tenth Revision, Clinical Modification ("ICD10CM"), International Classification, Tenth Revision, Procedure Coding System ("ICD10PCS"), Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System ("HCPCS"), International Classification International Classification 10, American Healthcare Association ("AHA") coding clinic guidelines, Medicare Severity Diagnosis Related Groupers ("MSDRG"), All Patient Refined Diagnosis Related Groupers ("APRDRG"), Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services ("CMS") guidelines, National Center for Healthcare Statistics ("NCHS"), Radiation Oncology Coding Guidance (Coding Strategies, American Society for Radiation Oncology ("ASTRO"), American College of Radiation Oncology ("ACRO"), American Health Information Management Association ("AHIMA") and American Academy of Professional Coders ("AAPC") code of ethics.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Competence with MS Office software (Word, Excel, Zoom and Outlook).
  • Experience with coding oncology related services.
  • Experience conducting training through Zoom
