The Production Operative for Leica Biosystems is responsible for assisting in the manufacture and packaging of finished products to regulated requirements. This will include, but not limited to, reagent preparation, dispensing of product, label printing and application, conversion of ancillary products, completion of batch documentation, in process checks and basic SAP transactions.

This position is part of the Production Department located in Leica Biosystems, Newcastle and will be an onsite role. At Leica Biosystems, our vision is to advance cancer diagnostics and improve lives.

You will be a part of the Production Team and report to the Production Supervisor responsible for managing part of the Production Department facilitating production of medical devices in line with customer demand. In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Produce a wide range of product used in the detection of cancer.

  • Complete quality documentation in line with GMP principles

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • There are no formal education requirements for this role, but it is expected that as a minimum the successful applicant will be educated to the equivalent of GCSE grade C in Maths and English, this is required for completion of paperwork/documentation.

  • The ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team.

  • Problem solving skills and can solve basic problems.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Working in a manufacturing environment (preferred but not essential as full training will be provided)

  • Working in a regulated environment.

  • Working to the requirements specified in ISO 9001:13485
