The Sr. HR Director is responsible for providing strategic people solutions in a transformative time for a specific segment of the corporate organization. It will require the incumbent to lead and operationalize strategic client and/or company projects (which have enterprise-wide, global span) in the areas of organization design, talent and succession planning, leadership and associate development, performance management, diversity & inclusion, engagement, and retention.

This position is part of the Corporate HR team reporting directly to the Vice President, Corporate HR and serves as the primary HR partner for enabling functions of Danaher Corporation. The role will be full-time and located in Washington DC, but well qualified remote candidates may be considered.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Serve as a trusted thought partner to senior leaders on talent and organizational design challenges, including supporting enterprise-wide transformation initiatives spanning across the enabling functions such as supporting the Pipeline Growth Process, succession planning for critical roles, and leading talent review sessions.
  • Partner with client groups and Talent Acquisition to acquire diverse and skilled talent for assigned client groups and effectively immerse new talent into the business
  • Drive successful execution of the performance management process within assigned client groups including leading performance calibration sessions, coaching leaders on tough conversations, and creating performance improvement plans and development plans for senior-level clients ensuring adequate engagement for all parties involved.
  • Collaborate with clients on internal movement decisions; transfers, promotions, and job enhancements and ensure decisions are aligned with talent and skill gaps, development plans, and career pathing while ensuring movement aligns with company leveling guides and policy
  • Report on assigned KPIs including headcount management and utilize PSP or other DBS tools as needed to identify and implement root cause countermeasures when not hitting targets

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Bachelor’s in Human Resources, Organization Design, Organization Development or related field with 10+ years of HR Experience OR Master’s with 7+ years of Human Resources Experience, including a minimum 5 years prior experience as an HR Business Partner supporting senior executives.
  • Experience leading medium to large-scale re-org, org alignment, and/or workforce planning efforts
  • Demonstrated success leading complex, cross-functional, global initiatives, processes, or projects particularly with global stakeholders including global HR with a strong understanding of risks across geographies to complete strategic tasks.
  • Sophisticated and demonstrated skills in strategic thinking, influencing, negotiating, coaching, consulting, business acumen, written and oral communication, project management and emotional intelligence; it is essential that candidates possess these as most of the client group is comprised of senior leaders
  • Orientation to results, continuous improvement, and customer service with a high sense of urgency

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Understanding both the implications and opportunities that exist within the HR function of an evolving organization
  • Experience leading large-scale organization design projects, including the execution of global transformation initiatives and navigation of consultation requirements where applicable.
  • Experience partnering closely with senior leader clients through Danaher’s Pipeline Growth Process

The salary range for this role is 170,000-190,000 . This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
