Position: Product Manager, Bioinformatics Software

Nature of Role: Reporting to the Director of Product Management and working within the commercial organization, this role collaborates closely with R&D, software engineering, and product development, and strategic partners to manage the Nabsys suite of software products with the goal of enabling the use of our proprietary high-definition electronic genome mapping platform. You will assist and be responsible for bringing novel software products to market and executing on all aspects of our go-to-market strategy that includes secondary data analytics of genome mapping data for structural variant analysis. The successful candidate must have some previous experience in launching software products in related fields and the enthusiasm to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Director of Product Management through ownership of the Nabsys suite of software products
  • Alongside our strategic partner, manage the integration and launch of in licensed software solutions like Human Chromosome Explorer
  • Be the point of contact for all things software product management at Nabsys
  • Develop a deep understanding of Nabsys platform in order to help refine and craft the value proposition in key customer segments
  • Perform ongoing strategic planning, market, and competitive analysis to drive customer segment selection and related product positioning
  • Facilitate convergence of functional and technical knowledge to scope and guide software product requirements that ensure target solutions are meeting customer needs
  • Develop framework for capturing voice of customer through the creation and ownership of customer support programs
  • Participate in and support software PMO activities
  • Interface with strategic partners related to work concerning product development and commercialization
  • Directly interface with Sales team on strategies for demand creation and continual lead generation as well as gather feedback to inform portfolio roadmap
  • Develop and own software pricing and customer support
  • Support the development of marketing programs and help craft and develop campaigns alongside our marketing team for lead generation
  • Participate in sales calls to convey software functionality and provide demo’s as needed
  • Develop and deploy training for software products that enable sales team and participate in sales meetings

Requirements:

Role is hybrid with expected travel to Providence, RI as needed.

  • Bachelors-level required, Masters/Ph.D. a plus
  • At least 6 years of experience working in software engineering, software development, bioinformatics, or product management in the genomics tools space
  • Previous experience or examples of participating in a successful software product launch.
  • At least 2 years of experience as a product manager in software.

· Worked previously with commercial operations and/or customer support team.

  • Familiarity with cloud-based software as a service products and business models a plus.
  • Previous experience with integrating customizable software tools in the field
  • Excellent writer with the ability to communicate both clinical and scientific content in a digestible format, including pitch decks, case studies, webinars, white papers, blog posts, etc.
  • Willingness to contribute in a variety of ways, even if outside formal responsibilities
  • Strong organizational and motivational skills, attention to detail
  • Able to take ownership, make recommendations to improve processes, put processes in place where none exists, take independent action to resolve an issue when appropriate
  • Highly proficient in MS Office suite, including utilization of PPT and Excel for most tasks
  • Knowledge of Salesforce, Google Analytics, Jira, and other product management / commercial tools
  • Experience working in the genomics and immunogenomics industries
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%
