The position
As the Category Lead, you will work in the Laboratory Sourcing team in Corporate Procurement and have the responsibility of the global Services & Calibration category for Laboratory Equipment. It is expected from you to build and execute global category strategy and thereby overtime build a deep understanding of the complex and differentiated customer landscape that Corporate Procurement is supporting across the value chain.
Your main tasks as a Category Lead will include:
- Driving global optimization projects, building and executing on an exciting and aggressive strategy to enable R&D pipeline increase and unlocking new business opportunities
- Continuously driving and optimizing our Supplier Relationship Management engagement with top strategic suppliers
- Supporting our R&D organization on the many various innovation projects with key suppliers, and actively and independently driving category coordination across the Global Procurement organisation
- Engaging a large community of stakeholders, often at senior level, both internally and externally
- Driving cross functional optimization projects to ensure continued process optimization and simplification
Furthermore, you will be responsible for motivating, coaching, and guiding junior team members to build basic understanding of NN value chain and own area of work.
Qualifications
To thrive in this role, you will have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in business administration, finance, supply chain or similar, and have minimum 7-10 years of working experience within category management, supply chain management or finance.
Other success criteria are:
- Preferably 1-2 years of international experience
- Project and change management experience
- Extensive stakeholder management and negotiation skills
- Leadership skills (adviser to VPs and CVPs)
On a personal level, you have international mindset, business acumen, values-driven decision-making skills and ability to build relationships and trust, to obtain commitment from both internal and external stakeholders.
Furthermore, it is expected from you to have courage to ‘constructively dissent’ and challenge senior management thinking on cost management and procurement.
About the department
Corporate Procurement is responsible for the indirect spend in Novo Nordisk. The department consists of 120 employees based in Denmark, 140 employees in India, and globally 500 people work in procurement.
